Took my bike out for the first ride today since i took the fairings off. There seems to be a slight difference in the way the bike cuts through the air but it's not that noticeable. I did notice however that the engine casing gets really hot and I wonder if anyone here was ever burned by it? I always wear jeans but I'm sure this is still something I should watch out for. Other than that, I'm happy I took the fairings off.

Im sure you could burn yourself since the whole thing does get pretty hot. That said, I've never burned my legs or come anywhere close to it. Engine is kinda up front when you put your legs down.

Ive ridden with shorts a few times (it was 98 out, so i have an excuse  :D) and was never burned with my legs tucked it. Im sure you can do it if you try hard enough though.
