I have only had it a few months and I really do like this bike as much as I loved the first GS I had back in the 90s....but I'm getting older and the riding position is just too uncomfortable for me to ride for very long. I struggled with the idea of making upgrades to the GS to make it more comfortable but decided a new bike was a better way to go. So with mixed emotion the GS is being traded in this afternoon....It will be missed...I'll have one last 55 mile ride to the dealer. I wish I could have kept both but the war department would not give the go ahead for the new bike if I didn't sell the old one...(to much clutter in the garage already. )

Thanks to everyone for all the input and advice...I'll still be around...

I'm seriously considering doing the same thing in 2 years for the same reason, something lower to swing a leg over and lighter in weight, maybe a  S40.  The new 2011 S40's on the Suzi US site look pretty good, nice colors, I've had too many black bikes.   :thumb:  You're not past 80 yet are you?   :icon_lol:
407,400 miles in 30 years for 13,580 miles/year average.  Started riding 7/21/84 and hung up helmet 8/31/14.

That's what I told myself, and I decided the next bike I got would be colored. I ended up with a bright yellow bike and within 3 weeks I had traded all the colored pieces with a local guy for black ones. Haha. I'm going to try to collect some red ones though. I'm not completely sure that it was the black I needed, I think the yellow was just too much.

I finally found the loophole to buying a 2nd bike. It was a puppy. We've already got 2 dogs, and I was more than perfectly content. Then my wife found this little black puppy at the pound she just had to have, so in the following negotiations I was able to get past that "What do you need ANOTHER bike for??!" question. Every time the puppy starts to annoy me I just picture myself cruising around on a cbr600rr in a year and a half and it all goes away...
