How do you jack up the GS since the pipe (stock) run under the frame. I need to get my wheels off....

I've only taken the rear wheel off... it was pretty easy to do though with the bike just on the center stand... getting it back on was much more annoying but still very doable...

whatre you trying to do? and what resources do you have?

I need both wheels off at the same time to get new tires. I have a craftsman MC jack and a plethora of hand/ air tools. Maybe a setup with 2x4s?

black and silver twin

I took some small pieces of 2x4 and made a thing to put most of the weight on the oil pan but leave enough weight on the pipes to keep it level and balanced.

yup. if it's only an afternoon thing, i'd just throw it on the center stand, take the rear off, then jack the front end up with some 2x4 to take the front off. i never used an actual motorcycle jack so i wouldnt know.. haha

I just use jackstands and the centerstand.  Put it up on the centerstand and then use two jackstands to support the front part of the frame.

Yeah it is a pain trying to use a mc jack cause the exhaust gets in the way.  The best way to do it would be to put it on the center stand and then take off the rear wheel.  Once the rear wheel is off then you can get the mc jack or even a regular car jack under the front and lift it up enough to get the front wheel off just make sure you don't jack the bike up to much to have it topple backwards.  Isn't the most stable but the best i have come up with so far.

I found the mc jack to work alot better for a snowmobile than a motorcycle.  It almost seems to work against the motorcycle.  Would probably work well for a quad also.
