Ok, I know many have said they have the petcock "wired" in place and I am sure that doesn't bother the function of it.  I was going to fab a bracket to relocate mine down and back and make a few extra brackets to give away.

When I received my new petcock it had the allen bolts in there and I found that if you just use the non threaded hole on the frame bracket for the old petcock you can just use the stock bolt and thread it into the new petcock from the opposite side.  I took a couple pics and I will post them after work if needed.  Anyway, it is very solid and easy to reach on the fly.  Looks like it belongs and it doesn't flop around in there.  If this has been brought up forgive stating the obvious.

Pandymai, as I previously mentioned you are about to get a "pay it forward" on my extra petcock.  You said you were short on funds and needed one too.  PM me your info and I will get it out to you.  I think it's a 2007 model petcock with 3000 miles on the bike it came off of.  There is no need to worry about why I want to send it.  I have had many great things happen in my life and opportunities that have fallen from the sky for me.  This one happens to be for you.

If you look on the right hole you will see the bolt end inserted from the back.

Hard to see with my crappy phone pics.  You can see in the last pic the stock allen head bolt screwed through the back side of the non threaded stock bracket.  

You can still get to it from the other side of the bike if you needed to remove for some extra line slack without taking the tank off.

I hope this helps.  I was hesitant to even take pics as I thought someone had already done it.

The spacing is not the same from the old to the new or you could just drill the threaded stock mounting hole oversized and use both bolts.  This is not the correct spacing......Do NOT drill it.

Technically you should not be using baling wire for bike repairs. 

You can find mechanics wire in the auto parts store.  Its much nicer. Comes in different diameters too.

For airplane repairs I think they call it safety wire, same stuff.

i still have the old petcock. i considered replacing it though as i thought it was contributing to problems i was having with fueling so just wanted to see how the new one fitted in there.
