I'm looking for a replacement motor for my motorcycle and have not had any luck with local salvage yards or ads on Craigslist. Is there anyone that has a good running engine in the Socal area? Possibly even Central California? I live in Los Angeles and like I said, I haven't found one single engine in the area.

These guys just quoted me 181 bucks for shipping, engine picked up at my residence and dropped off at yours. Figure 200. Let me know if you want it, I know for sure I want that engine out of my basement...  :icon_mrgreen:

Want it still? Give me 550 and the engine is yours - but shipping is on you.

Bumping this thread, still looking for an engine. I'm at the point where I might just part out the bike but I would rather not do that.

I been laid off today, so I will get to work finding this and a couple of other parts that seem to have made a break for it.
Cool.

Hello Buddha, so you have an engine? Please p.m me the details, thanks.

how knackered is your engine? is the top end still good (as in cylinder block, pistons, and head+related)?

...cause I'm also in the market for a motor, or parts, a lot of parts...

The engine is knocking pretty bad, I haven't taken it apart but I know when the rod(s) are going. I've been looking for a few months now for a decent engine priced at a fair price but no luck with Craigslist and the salvage yards locally want an arm and a leg, close to what I can get a whole running bike for. So if I can't find an engine within the next month I am going to sell the bike or part it out. I have had it sitting too long here and don't want to look at it sitting idle any longer.

Dr.Sparkie

I know what you mean about the arm and the leg. These guys local to me want me to buy one from some guys in the states, pay to have it shipped, then pay the local guys a 100$ finders fee.
By the time I'm running again I could be riding a 4 cylinder bike instead. WTH?

Anyways, if it comes down to parts or you get a fresh motor, I would be interested in everything on top of the cases (pistons, block, head) and the ignition pickup on the right side of the motor.
