Alright so I was an idiot and let my 07 GS sit for to long, now it idles for about 30 seconds until it slowly dies.  It stays on with full choke, half choke, a little throttle, just wont idle very long before it dies.  I checked the spark plugs and they are normal (a little black because its rich) and i plan to drain the tank but I wanted to know if anybody has some tricks to try and get it to idle correct such as add something to the gas.  I dont mind draining the tank and adding new gas but i really dont want to pull the tank off and clean the carbs unless I have to because i wont be able to do it till next weekend.  Thanks in advance guys.

yeh try the seafoam but i think pulling the carbs and cleaning them would be better

First, I didn't ask for magic and second I said I asked because I dont have time till next weekend.  Full time job and full time school, if you can spare the hour then come by but if not please don't waste your time assuming I'm lazy and add something useful or don't say anything at all.

Even if you dont have time to pull the carbs, just getting the bowls off and cleaning them will help a lot. Once they are clean of any old gas / debris spray some carb cleaner in the bowls (about 1/3 full) and put them back on the carbs. The carb cleaner will help dissolve and gunk hanging at the bottom of the jets - just remember to drain it before starting the engine.

Seafoam yes, but dont put a bunch in the tank.
You need to just fill the bowls with a 3 parts of gas to 1 of seafoam. Then drain it and put fresh gas in the thing.
In the tank sea foam will loosen a lot of the resident crud and send it all into the carbs. Your bike can digest all of that over the next 10 tankfuls, just not in the next 1/2 gal.

The gas in bowl goes bad faster than gas in tank. Drain bowls, fire up. Might be OK.

If this works and its magic, so be it. Send one USD nickel.

Other more elaborate ideas are all OK too.

You didn't mention what your $1 gas filter looks like. You did put one when you bought the bike in didn't you? (hint) 

Alright so seafoam worked and the bike is working now, thanks guys.  My next question is should I fill the tank and add more seafoam to clean in a tad better or should I add instabil or should I just leave it be and ride?

just ride then when you have time in the next week or so and if you want take it down and give them a good cleaning.
