I was sitting outside on my friends porch last night and I saw this bike go by on the off-ramp of the freeway.  Turns out it was a red GS!  It looked a bit older by the look of the tail light, but it sounded real real good.  Lucky for him though that he got that ride in, because it snowed about 6 inches last night.  Anyway, If you rode by huron road off of 94E at about 9:30 last night, you brought my spirits way up!  And we should setup a MN ride this summer sometime with a bunch of GSers!

Yeah...I was pretty excited to go riding after I saw that.  Anyway, we should setup a ride sometime.  I know some other riders that don't ride gs's but we could get a group to go to red wing or just ride the parkway or something.  I don't know of many great places to ride yet.  Other than Opus 2 which is a friggin racetrack! Just put a post up sometime and hopefully riders will catch on.

This may sound really lame, but heading south on the East River Road, especially where it comes up on Ford Parkway, is a blast.  When I started riding, it scared me doing it at 25mph.  There are two 120-degree right turns that are hard to hold a tight line on, even at city street speeds.  You have to stay in you lane, plus theirs a bike lane on your right.

I also like taking the parkway east from Lake Calhoun in the middle of the night... very peaceful.  Hwy 3 down to Farmington is nice too.

The MN-Sportbike crowd likes to ride the "alphabet roads" in Wisconsin, but I was too new to want to ride with them last year.  They've got a few GS riders in their group; it sounds like they really ride them to keep up with the pack.

Unfortunately, we've also got lots of straight boring roads, and it takes a half-hour to get outside city traffic no matter which way you go.  So if you only have an hour to kill, your choices are limited.
