I know there are a few Akira fans on here, so thought I'd share.  Project Akira Bike has some amazing CG images of Kaneda's bike in the Research Gallery, located here:

Samples (these are only thumbnails):

There are some really cool images of the bike with the bodywork removed, which is appropriate for us  :)

For those who don't know, Project Akira Bike is one man's attempt to build Kaneda's bike, the main page is here: http://www.matus1976.com/akira_bike

The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

I don't remember where i saw it but along time ago i saw a full scale dummy model of the bike with a real person sitting on it. It looked great.

I know exactly what you're talking about... I thought I had it bookmarked but can't find it.  There are actually two of them in existance, wish I had one  :)

Great link :thumb:

I wonder how it would do at a custom bike show if he gets all the glass or C/F bodywork done and painted well?  There are a lot of fans of the mind-f**k that is Akira

Too bad it's only a model...

Ummmm.... *raises hand*  How does that thing lean?  Does the suspension jack itself up at speed?  :?
I mean, the concept bikes similar to Kaneda's bike, try and be narrow at the lower end of the bike, whereas Kaneda's bike has these huge pods beneath his feet.
