she made noise tonight!!!!!  looks like a combination, bad battery and starter relay. hooked cables to the M50 (thanks Mole) but had nothing. jumped the relay with a screwdriver and she came to life. looks like I'm driving to Va Beach tomorrow to pick up some parts. got a soda bottle fabbed up so I can put some gas in it and maybe get her to run tomorrow. as soon as I know she'll run, the real work begins.

and just because I had to take it off to get to the battery........

well, I didn't make it to the store today. everybody is always so busy. here's what I did do....





If I had someone else to take pictures you would have seen me with the bottle upside down on the handlebars, the cables strewn across the floor and me with a screwdriver jumping the solenoid. it just chugged tho. no start. any thoughts?? I've got another plan of attack in the works for tonight when I get home from work.

I also primed the tank. look at all those dents.

LIFE!!!!! I think my fuel hoses are routed wrong because she didn't run long. just long enough to burn the gas I poured into the carbs. definitely a good sign tho.

Good news another GS lives! Silly question for you. You do have a manual right? The forum sells them and there is also a PDF of it going around.

I don't have a manual but so far, I've been able to find everything in the gstwin encyclopedia. if I need it I'll get it, but I'm good for now.

SHE LIVES!!!!! she idles real high, 6kish, but I think the throttle is adjusted too far in. the arm sits at least 1/4 inch from the idle control screw turned all the way in. I also need to put some sort of restrictor on my hoses coming from the bottle. fuel is coming from the top T while she runs and she floods out occasionally.

now that I know she will definitely run with some tweaking, it's time to pull out the cutoff wheel and call my welder  I've got some ideas (and a second seat on the way) but nothing pointing in any certain direction yet.   

ordered a solenoid from Ebay today. when it gets here, I'll buy a new battery. breaking out my angle grinder tomorrow.

got my starter solenoid today and still no worky. after watching a youtube video (I presume it was someone on here) It looks like my starter switch is bad. got one coming. I haven't broke out the angle grinder yet. been too busy with work and my honey do list. maybe I'll get her running and just put her back together as is until I get a little more time
