I have to say I love the dual caliper front end. That simple addition just adds so much to the FE..makes it look fast just sitting there not to mention mean!

After seeing Fry's are you thinking of making your calipers gold like the vavle covers?

I'm not going to paint my Calipers gold, never really a fan of Gold Spray Paint, I like anodized gold and well, the cans just don't come close. I'll be painting my Calipers, VHT's Caliper Black...If I go with SS Lines, I will make sure the banjo bolts are anodized gold, it will be "Just" enough color, without being dominating, I kinda like a muted look.

And by the way, this bike is plain SICK......Outstanding job, simply wild creation, a knock you in the face if you look at me, type of look, love it.

hahahaha yea its kinda funny cause now it looks and sounds much tougher than it actually is haha but I still love my gs500

I thought about doing the calipers gold while I had them apart for a re-build,but I decided it would be too much gold,I stepped out my usual ways doin the gold on the bike as it is so I just painted em black haha

slowfighter, do you have any photos from work proces? Will be very awesome if you make an whole project thread.

I remember I was at work when you first posted this so I couldn't see the pictures, but I wanted to check it out when I got home. Then somehow I searched for it for quite and while and couldn't find it. Can't believe it took me this long to see it!

Anyway, I've definitely never been crazy about bobbers, but I do really like this one. It flows really well as opposed to a lot I've seen where it just looks like the back has been hacked off. Yours doesn't really look like it's missing anything back there like a lot of bobbers do.

I like all the details you squeezed in there. I really like the front sprocket cover too to open things up. Would love to see some more pictures. What's that rear shock from?

Ill search around and see if I have any pics from the build process,I built most of the bike at night in my living room after work so I didnt really have time to stop and take pics, but I think I have a few somewhere..

Yea I know exactly what you mean, most people do just cut down the stock subframe makin the bike look like something is missing and im not really a fan of that either.. Thanks most people prob dont notice the sprocket cover haha it makes it look more open, mechanical, and its easier to work on like removing the sprocket and chain also makes adjusting the clutch cable a breeze.. The rear shock is from either an older gsxr or katana750 its a super stiff ride though.  Ill take some new pics soon..

Made a new merge pipe and exhaust tip,it comes up a little higher under the peg and I used bigger diameter pipe,2 1/4 ID.. Sounds a little better than the other one as well.

tt_four

Looks good! is that pipe actually strapped to the frame? or just hanging out from where it bolts to the engine?

You should cut the end of the pipe parallel to the line of the bike, I think it would look really clean that way.

KlaXon

Is it just straight pipe? How about a backpressure and other things?

Its not bolted to the frame right now,but ill prob make a mount for it to connect to the existing mount for the center stand.. How do you mean parallel to the line of the bike? I have it cut like it is to try and avoid blackening my swingarm with exhaust hahaha

Its just a straight pipe,I might make a baffle to go in there but it runs fine as it is now..

tb0lt

Nice bike with clean work. Has a retro look to it...

PS: To the guy asking about back pressure... a properly tuned 4 stroke engine doesn't need backpressure. The crap about burning valves and such because an engine "lacks back pressure" is true ONLY in cases where the engine is running lean or has some other problem the tuner doesn't know about. Uncontrolled lean burn = burnt valves, melted pistons, etc.

I ran mine just like this for almost a year with no problems. Unless you call shooting flames a problem  :woohoo:

I think you already cut it somewhat in the angle I'm talking about. Something kinda like this, enough of an angle to open up the side a little bit. I just thought it would give it a more finished/intentional look instead of looking like you just cut it flat with a hacksaw, if that makes sense, plus I think this way would blow it outward more, instead of towards your swingarm....

Very sweet, but no way it could get plates in NY.

servus is bayrisch/german and means good morning, hallo, ciao!

slowfighter

Thanks man!! Respect for your crazy creation as well!!!

kind of a noob here but where did u go with the battery?

knowles

Very nice i also like that you made the rear end look finished, i have thought of cutting off some of the front spocket cover also, i find so much crap in there. I like the color of the frame. I second the newer tank i like how it looks on the e style bikes.

If you look closely at a few of the pics you can see it tucked up on an angle just under the seat.

They do make slim line batteries nowadays that fit under your seat for the guys doing cafe racer bikes. Don't know about the price on them but I would think they wouldn't be cheap
