Try this, it works beautifully. Sounds just like the civic it came off of, just a civic at 11k rpm's.  O0

Vid of that exhaust in action please  :woohoo: :woohoo:

Yes, that would make it a true dual. You would have to weld it very cleanly though to keep it from interfering with the flow.

Sorry, don't have any. It sounded swell though, and it made the flames shoot even further than when straight piped.

After checking the archives of MySpace, I found a video walk-around of the bike that I made when I was trying to sell it. Can't hear it in action, but get a little better view of how much cleaner it was mounted after making a few adjustments.

Try dropping down to 4 Oreos and set your pilot screw 3 turns out.

skirecs

just cut it off with a grinder, rejet and put a backpressure baffle up the header pipe

You could buy a set of these, there all the rage, all the kiddies are buying them. Latest rage in form over function.

Sure like to hear what that sounds like! :thumb:

Im getting there, Im getting there....Back to working on the bike just on weekends....Plus my heater in the garage is slowly poisoning me.

Eh, I'm not about to turn this into a troll thread on back presssure. Plenty of debates on that already.

'troll thread' meaning, causing an unnecessary argument over a useless subject that has been gone over hundreds of time with no real results. Just to start an argument.

Enough said. But this site is about opinions so people can learn right? Well, and have fun doing it. So even though it has been talked about to the Nth you need to act like it is the first time it is asked with new people ask unless you can recall the exact thread which sometimes I can. If not, it's about helping the new people right? If we don't treat every new person with respect then this site will die. They may have asked a old question that is 4 pages deep. It is up to us that have been here and done that, it is our responsibility to help them not to waste their money, to help them not destroy their exhaust or something worse when some one has done that before. It took my awhile to get that but hey I learned. So speak your mind and help people.

And that was spoken from both bikes (inside joke)

You raise a good point. Let me dig around and see if I can find the exact thread I'm thinking of.

In essence, my personal stance on the matter is this:

An engine does not require back pressure to run, or run properly for that matter. You can literally unbolt the headers and run the engine, and the lack of back pressure would not be what hurts it. Some people say straight pipes will cause burned/bent valves and warpage of the head, and this is true in some cases, but it is not due to a lack of back pressure. If the pipes are too short, then cold air will rush in when you cut off the engine. This cold air rushes in and heads straight into the head where the exhaust valves await. Wait a second, that engine was running a second ago so it's probably not at room temperature. We all know what happens when you heat and then rapidly cool a metal . . . .

I am not a professional, and stand to be corrected, but this is what I have taken from personal experience and reading of these debates.

I was jokingly scoffing at the proposal of adding a 'backpressure baffle', no harm intended.

Not sure if you are referring to me, my name is Gavyn  :whisper:

Yeah, we definitely don't want to turn people away with brash deliveries, and should make it a point to be as helpful and kind to each other as possible. That's why this board is so great, we're like a brotherhood.

a good ole debate on back-pressure. i read that the main problem is with carbureted engines; if you reduce backpressure you'll run lean and hot which will eventually ruin valves, head, etc.
