Sad to lose my GSF

Long story short, by GS500F was totalled when I got rear-ended. The only thing I didn't like about that bike was it was very susceptable to cross-winds. Otherwise I thought it was great, but of course, I had what the sailors call "2-foot-itis."  It's that condition you have when you are looking to trade up to the next best thing.  So some wrangling with my insurance and bike dealer put me in the saddle of a GSX650F.  Brought her home today. But...even though I was excited and thought this was a great bike...I was kinda missing my old GS.  That bike was so light and easy to toss around, the exhaust and engine sounded great, it was a good size, it was just a great little bike.

I'm sure I'll come to love my 650, but it's a lot heavier and you really feel it in the turns.  Wicked acceleration, looks great, motor is like a turbine, but it's a lot heavier to move around the garage, and it's a lot wider when you sit on it.  Maybe it's because the GS was my first, but I miss that darned bike! And it's kind of taking away from the excitement of the new one.  Ah well, I shouldn't complain.  I guess I'm just writing to say, "see you around" and don't be too quick to trade up from the GS!

Adios.

Wow, I'll bet you'll never come back to a GS500, you will now be spoiled. Unless you are a puriest. In that case we will see you soon again. Otherwise happy trails and be safe. :thumb:

BTW glad you are OK sorry to hear about a jewel being ruined.

I still miss my first bike. I think I'll always be sad it's gone. Honestly, I miss every bike I've ever had. It's hard to see any of them go.
