Rear sets... what would you like to see

I'm about to sit down with ProE, and start designing some rear sets for this bike to be milled out this week or next. I'll probably do something very similar to the vortex style of rear sets

I am, however, open to any input on what people would like to see. I'm planning to making more than one set of these.

How much movement would you like to see as far as where the pegs can go versus where they are stock?

Try dropping down to 4 Oreos and set your pilot screw 3 turns out.

no adjustability though... boo

the color is just a matter of anodizing it

i dont think a million holes is really needed. something with like maybe 4 or 5 posistion is plenty. something the allows maybe 1.5 or 2 inchs from stock either back, up, down or back and up. prolly not anything that needs to go foward from stock, or any millings that allow like 1/4 inch movement, thats just a waste of drilling if you ask me.

as far as aestics go:
i like the gold heel guards better. pointier at the tips, sharper angles. i dont like the roundness of the silver vortex ones. honestly i think the angles on the stock heel guards are awesome, put some cool millings in those and theyd be perfect.  and this next comment goes against what i said up there, but all the holes drilled to allow micro adjustments do look cool, just not cool enough to be worth it if you ask me.

I think my opinion would vary greatly if I saw prices attached to these pictures  :D.  I'm not sure that my bike is cool enough to have them anyway.  I agree with gregvhen about the rather pointless need for that many adjutments.  Whatever you decide, I can't wait to see it on your bike!

Doesn't take much work to drill all the holes, so I don't mind doing it, as long as I can make it look good.

Prices for what I'm doing will likely be a whole lot less than the other stuff available for the bike ;)

I'm definitely interested!!  The vortex ones look like a good starting point.  Though, I agree with redhen and gregvhen on the pointier heel guards.  I saw these about a couple months ago and thought they looked really awesome.

heel guards are easy to add. Hell, I may do some out of carbon just for shits and giggles

I'm first in line if you decided to manufacture and sell!

^those black and green ones are badass, I would definitely get some for my gs if I buy it back.

interested if price is right

how many do you plan on making at first? just one set and if people like them you'll make by order? also the shapes (and color for that matter) on the green and blacks and black and reds are awesome. the bottom right gold one, with the white background, i dont like as much because its boxy. the bottom of it is parralel to the top, and to the gorund, i like on the other ones how the basic shape is a triangle, and the bottom side of the other ones angle up. try to do that with the ones your making, IMO

I'm designing them to be made on the cnc mill. Making multiples isn't all that difficult, so yah, I'll likely make by the order.

I wouldn't care about color, or even shape, as long as they work well.  Mine have 10 positions, and I have used 4 of them. Believe it or not, you can feel a difference from one position to the next.

^^ noob question but what do you mean by feel different? What's the purpose of making it adjustable?

- Use standard pegs, ideally folding....that way if they do snap off then at least they can be replaced
- Allow access for the screw holding the chain guard in place without removal of the whole rear set (it's currently behind the heel plate)
- Adjustable Positions as per other comments.

Making the pegs replaceable is definitely a great idea.

Been roughing out a design for the rear sets. Allows for a bit of adjustment down for those looking to cruise, and a bit more going up and back. Haven't bothered with heel plates yet or pegs themselves, although I'll likely make pegs that are detachable, but not foldable. They'll be designed so that should the bike fall, the peg will break before the mounting point at the frame.

with the peg in stock position:

All the way down/forward (Down a half inch, forward a quarter)

All the way back/up(Back an inch, up an inch)

These are looking pretty good. For sure interested in a set once you get them milled out and set a price. Good work!
