I think I would enjoy this more than headphones, but I'm concerned about how loud they are. If they aren't loud enough to be heard at highway speeds, it's kind of useless. They can be hard-wired to the bikes battery so that you don't go through a pack of batteries every week. What do you think?

Try dropping down to 4 Oreos and set your pilot screw 3 turns out.

I think it would work for around town, but at freeway speeds you probably won't hear anything over wind noise...I think that would only work on a bike with a full fairing (touring bike...)

Just my opinion...

Pair it up with one of those national cycle plexi 2 windshields and you'd be in business. It's debatable, you'd definitely be fighting with the wind noise normally, but you might still pick up on some of it since it's coming from below and has the path of least resistance straight up inside your helmet. No way to know without trying though.

Yes, I have tried one, this exact one in fact.  In short, not really worth the money in my opinion.  At highway speeds it is very hard to hear when you factor in bike/traffic noise, wind noise and your helmet (I'll assume you wear a full face and not a beanie).  At lower speeds and on country/low traffic roads it was ok.  Word of note, it runs on batteries, but wire it to your bike.  Performance differs immensley when you run it off batteries vs hard wired.  Again, don't expect car stereo sound...I'm back to headphones.  If you could get one used on the cheap then sure its not bad...but I wouldnt pay full price if I were you.  Just my 2 cents :)  Oh and its storage capacity is ass...

with a flyscreen, or a full on F model, you'd be surprised just how much you can hear from the tank area. i could hear a TOMTOM 130 that was suctioned to my tank.
