3 concerns

Hi all,

I'm a little concerned about some things that I'm seeing with my bike.

1. I was cleaning and lubricating my chain, when I noticed that if I put it in gear and let it run, then chain jerks and wobbles. What can be the cause of this? Might it be loose?

2. I took the bike to a shop to change the brake fluid recently, but when I engage front brakes, I hear buzzing. I've read before that buzzing probably means that it's time to change the fluid, but it's just been changed... it looks clean and the level is high. Should I worry about it?

3. When I put the choke on, it starts to rev up; I later remove the choke but it keeps feeding more fuel. I have to wiggle the throttle cable for it to stop. Do I need to adjust it somehow, or just put a new cable in?

Thank you in advance,

Alex

Check to see if any of your links are seized up/not moving freely..
sounds like when i let a chain go bad a long time ago, had tight spots, loose spots, wobbled, rattled you name it..

Sounds like your choke might be sticking, is it the cable? or possibly carby needs a clean?

i'm no expert, just my thoughts..

As to my experience... the buzzing sound is generated by disc holes while brake pads do their job, so no worries there.  :thumb:

1. It's going to do that as the rear wheel is jerked and then 'catches up'.

2. Normal

3. Lube the cable.

^^ what he said. But if it still does it, search for "hanging idle" on this forum.

1.  There seems to be a lot more chain slack when the GS is on the center stand.  However, when you put it on the sidestand it tightens up.  (The manual specifies checking chain slack on the sidestand, BTW.  20mm-30mm is what they recommend.)

2.  Never noticed this.

3.  Sounds like hanging idle to me (we had that).  We found the very easy and effective "fix" right here on this forum (as was posted, search "hanging idle).

I love that buzzing noise on the front brake. My other bike doesn't do it, just the GS, so I make sure not to take it for granted.

Buzzing is normal. Lube your cable. Check your chain, how many miles on it?

Chain slackens when there is no weight on the bike,I always lay over the seat with my weight and reach down to feel tension.
