Im a gswtin newbie and have just learned how to do picture hosting after a bit of advice! Last year my sister crashed this bike, then sold it to me. Due to breakers in the south west of the U.k. being virtually non-existent i opted in buying non-stock speedo and tachos. then i preceded in using my favourite angle grinder to make a plate so it blended in with the yokes and a couple of bracket mountings.  

A bit of industrial polishing later, and shotblasting/polishing the yoke plate, i think it looks a lot better, any one agree. I just think the stock clocks just look to big and bulky, and dont match the headlght unit. They look a lot better at night, as they are lit by LED's as opposed to the stock bulbs.



Anyway, ive just purchased a set of bridgestone BT45 Battleaxes, they are much better than cheap, old, squared tyres, and the handling is 100% improved.

i mean, it just looks like they're angled to point straight up. is that a problem?

Where'd you find those mate? I've seen the black faced ones everywhere but finding the white ones is proving tricky.

Yes they are facing straight up... like an old triumph... The white faces are cool. BTW the stock guages are pretty nice looking... The whole assy like the triples, the top plate of the guages the headlight bucket and the triangle ears should be painted black.

is there a good speedo/tach replacement for our GS in USA/Canada?

GRU...you might want to look into Autometer gauges, I'm sure you could find some interesting ones; and now with the raceboy look they have some that change colors, look like carbon fiber, etc. They are mostly designed for cars but i don't know why they wouldnt work on a bike.

Since we're on the subject of guages...

Anyone know what the ratio is for the speedo drive?  Is it 1:4?
Where'd the white-faced gauges come from... they look like the JC Whitney gauges, but whitefaced...
