dismantling clocks

the inside of the glass on my clocks need a good clean, how who knows??
I need to dismantle the speedo and rev counter so I can clean the inside of the glass but can not see away to do this with out damaging the rims, is there a way to do this.

Dont open it to clean the inside of the glass. Clean that part by squirting some glass cleaner into the light bulb hole, then swirling it and then sitting it to drain. Its got drain holes, set em downward etc.

It is called the instrument cluster / gauge cluster.

As to your problem, you can use a rotary cutting tool, like a dremel, to make two clean cuts to cut the ring into two equal halves. This will let you take the glass cover out and clean it to your liking. When you are done, just lightly coat the underside of the metal ring with epoxy and put it back together neatly. I've seen it done on other bikes and it won't even look like it was taken apart if you take your time and make clean cuts.

You might run into problems when selling the bike though.... 'cause the buyer(s) will think you cut it open to mess with the odometer reading.
