SOLD

I have just bought a 2000 BMW R1100RS, so I am selling my beloved 1998 GS500E.

The particulars:
1998 Suzuki GS500E (Stock Black Metallic)
31,000+ miles
Almost new tires (Avon RoadRiders) in stock sizes
GIVI top case mounted on OEM Suzuki rack with reinforcements.
Supplemental LED Brake light mounted in the GIVI reflector.
Stainless braided front brake line.
K & N Air Filter.
Almost new AGM glass mat battery maintained on Battery Tender.
Progressive Front Springs installed.  I have original soft springs too, if you weigh 90 lbs.
National Cycle F-16 windshield installed.
Tank bag with 12V outlet inside (mounted on quick disconnect for easy bag removal).
12V Quick Disconnect tucked under seat for charging things in saddlebags.
Both 12V outlets are wired through a relay so that they are only ON when ignition is on.
A homemade throttle lock.
LED gauge lights (blue) and LED brake/tail lamp to minimize current draw while touring.
Brakes are good, and brake fluid has been flushed regularly.
I have a chin fairing which is off the bike (needs cleaning and perhaps repainting).  Brackets are on the bike.

Bike is road-worthy as is.  I have put 20K miles on the bike in the last six years, including two long distance road trips in 2007 and 2008.  There are a few pics of the bike in those links.

Recent work includes re-plumbing the fuel lines with Tygon synthetic line, replacement of o-rings under the needle seats in the carbs, adjustment of floats in carbs, and valve adjustment check.  I have also replaced some gaskets and seals to stop oil leaks over the years.  I am a conscientious home mechanic and have maintained the bike well.

Cosmetically, the bike is a B+ but it runs very well.

How much did you end up selling for? Curious......

$1300!

I did pay to re-tag it (expired in December) so that was $45.  And I'll ride it to the house of the guy who bought it, two hours away.  But I was pleased with the sale and I think the buyer was too.  He is anxious to have it.  We closed the deal on Sunday and he couldn't get to his cash at the bank, so we'll finalize as soon as things thaw out!
