I start the bike with full choke on....as I reduce it as bike warms up....as I gradually shaZam! off choke...around 35% choke or so...it flutters....will only hold rpms steadily at 3500rpm....when try to adjust choke to hold at 2000 rpm, it flutters up and down with the rpm, very unsteady....whats wrong? Does the choke cable need adjusting or something?

My bike runs fine, holds rpm when warm nicely at the recommended (1200-1500?)....2007 gs500F, 13000KM

I know this is an older thread, but I'm having the same problem.  Full choke brings it up to 3500-3800 RPM.  Even little adjustments to try and lower it drops RPM way down, try to readjust bounces back up.  It's a real chore trying to get it steady between 2000-3000.  It seems like it either wants to be fully on or off.

I'm gonna be rejetting the carbs soon, so figured this was a good time to tool with the choke.  It's an '06...do you think the choke cable should be replaced by now, or can the one that's on there be lubed and adjusted?  Or is the choke on this bike generally a PITA?
Good day to you!

Flick is the same way.  :dunno_white: if that is the way it is or not?

Is it alright to warm it up at about 3500 RPM (as opposed to the recommended 3K)?

Yes. Don't sweat it.
