Well I had another ICON helmet that I'm now using, and I got a Yamaha Joe Rocket jacket from a buddy that's got a GSXR now that's pretty nice. Guy gave me gloves with the bike too so that saved me a little cash. I bought some boots as well, heh.

And how about riding pants? Also, isn't it sacrilege to wear a gixxer jacket on a Yamaha?

It's a Yamaha jacket, he sold it to me because he traded in his R1 for a GSXR1000. I do have pant's but I don't wear them unless it's cold, lol.

Absolutely beautiful bike. That is easily my favorite year of the R's.

As for 'riding pants', I don't even own any. My bike is a daily driver, and I'm not gonna wander around in full leathers during my daily activities. I have considered some of the jeans that have armor in them, but they seem kind of sketchy to me for some reason.

Try dropping down to 4 Oreos and set your pilot screw 3 turns out.

I don't ride around in leathers but I do ride in textile ones. And I don't really wanna hear the heat bit I live in Florida if I can do it anyone can. Not only does road rash hurt as I'm sure you can attest to but can be expensive I.e medical bills missed time off etc. Was an EMT for quite a few years and can assure you jeans don't go very far on asphalt. I just grabbed another nice pair of riding pants on here for $25 you probably pay more for that than on your denim jeans. Thanks, CBoling :thumb:

I'm just saying be safe out there. Why take chances that you don't have to take :dunno_white:

Good to know though your not comitting sacralige on the new bike though LOL!

That's mainly why I don't wear them, I commute daily and I don't ride with any bags, most I'll bring is a backpack for an extra pair of shoes and gym clothes. The riding pants I have only have a small amount of padding around the knees, they're more like ski pants really, keep me very warm in 20 degree weather. I had a real soft spot for this style R6 as well, thanks for the compliment, I'm in love with it. The I4 power is taking a bit to get used to again, but after 15k miles on the GS I think I can handle it ok this time around.

I need to move to freaking Arizona where I can ride all year, it was 65 last weekend so I got some decent riding time in, but yesterday it was -20F here with wind chill down to -65F, brrr!

I've been thinking about doing this since I read it in an MC magazine think it was Motorcyclist but don't hold me to it. But, they make a pair of Carhart double cloth pants in the knee and a few people have gone down in them and they are saying they do as well as some of the textile pants. They showed how you could sew a pocket for knee guards in it that you can remove when you get to the office and they look like thick khakis.

It would be better than nothing!

I am lucky at work I have a small locker that I can get my jacket, boots, and pants into. I leave my tank bag and jacket in the security office.

I usually just bring my helmet and stuff into my office with me, it's more just about being a pain than anything I guess. I might buy some of those draggin jeans for the summer time, I've heard good things about them. You need a double padded knee if you spend a lot of time going down! Sorry, couldn't resist, lol.
