Leave it. Nothing like having my $22,000 BMW K bike peppered with rocks because someone didn't like the look of the stock fender.
I'm not really sure that is a problem because if it going to flick up only on a rare occasion will that extra two inches catch the rock. I'd be much more worried about the dump trucks and cars flicking stuff up to mess up that $22,000 bike! I got nailed by a softball sized piece of tire coming up from a car and it had a fender so I just don't see where your coming from. :dunno_white:

What about all the trucks that throw rocks, and almost all new sport bikes that don't come with much of a fender to speak of? Afraid I have to say if you are worried about getting peppered with rocks, you should either not follow so closely or just park it and ride a cheaper bike.

I've only encountered rocks when riding too close to another moto; perhaps you need to back off a bit!   :D

I checked and with Idaho State Laws are different they only require Front and Rear Lights, Brack Light, and One mirror. You do not need turnsignals even if you choose not to

Rocks travel further when you go faster.  :icon_mrgreen:

Hi Mary,

Generally, I don't ride very close to other vehicular traffic, and when I do it's usually either behind the center of the vehicle, or off to the side setting up for a pass. I do tend to ride with other motorcyclists a lot, and I've noticed from experience that the riders who have removed or cut their rear fenders tend to kick up a lot of debris, especially since, as motorcyclists, we tend to ride on parts of the road that aren't cleaned by the passing of 4 wheel traffic.

I've gotten a face full of rocks more than once.

With that said, the fender on my GT is stock, and the fender on the GS is cut. But the GS only sees time on the local circuits.
