As title says the kick stand has to be 97-00.  i didn't know it would be so hard to find one!

"i didn't know it would be so hard to find one!"

I guess because you never asked me.  :icon_lol:  I'm sort of the repository for all kinds of parts, bolts, etc.

What's the difference? Springs & bolts are the same, even though they have a couple slightly different part numbers for the side stand itself.
I can't see any difference between them.  :dunno_black:
Not sure how many I have until I go home and check. (More than 1 but less than 5.) Side stand only or center stand, too? Do you need bolts and springs to go with it?

Saturday is going to be my day for sorting parts and reorganizing the garage since I have another GS500 to make room for.

ah i hope you have one!  My bike has been covered in the garage for a few years and i am just thinking about the parts i need to get it back on the road.  if i remember correctly i got a replacement kickstand that ended up being an 89 and it didnt fit.  it would've required some serious grinding.  if i remember right, i need one from a 97-00.  i'll try and take a peek tomorrow and see what the dimension differences are..

I think I have an extra one too. I'll check and update ya.

Side stand on my 92 and 94 is longer than on my 2009 by about an inch and a half.
The extra side stand I have is the same as on my 09.
Unsure about 97-00 as I haven't bought a bike in that era yet. Does this mean I should buy another GS500?
If someone knows if it is right, you can have it. Springs for it should be there. I'd have to look for the bolt as I've never paid attention to the side stand bolt.

wow. guys i looked this morning to check the measurements to see that apparently i found one to fit already.  boy i should look over my bike to see what parts i need before i buy them..  sorry for the usefull thread!
