Quite a day! Centuryghost and scottychop came over for a group work day. Scotty got rear grab bar and will pick up either Trey's exhaust or the Sito next week. Trey got new top tripple with ignition switch that works well. He also got 1989 factory clip ons. Still have to put on the new headlight and clean up wiring. Found I need a tach as one mounting is broken. Anyone got a mechanical tach?

Quite a site! 5 GS500's in one place! (Scotty's is not in the picture.)

Also gave away wine making equipment I'm no longer using to  other riders from the Pacific Northwest Riders forum. Now I will have room in the basement to set up a polishing/buffing area for parts.

My gym trainer stopped over with his GSXR-1000 and we put Trey's bar ends on it. Trey got new R&G bar ends.

My left leg is getting better. Can ride a little but after all of today's work, I'm taking it easy 'cause it is a little sore and swollen. I really appreciate and enjoy all the help from everyone.

Closest is century's, Suzi on the left, Junior in far front and my new Trey on the left being worked on. Scotties new ride not in picture - it was in front of the garage.

Started troubleshooting the electrical system. Now she's taken apart and I'm half crazy. Really hoping to ride before tomorrow night.

Well Washed all the mud off my GS500F. On Thursday we had some very heavy rain and one of the routes I take to avoid traffic jams is through a park. I saw the big puddles and decided it wasn't that deep and forded the puddles which incidentally ended up finishing just below the air filter box (oops a little deeper than I thought), and then walked it a very muddy slope and got home nice and quickly while everyone else crawled.

But the best part of today is I can't walk from spending all morning on the dirt bike on the most challenging tracks I've done to date and bending the poor little XR250 (it was allot of fun involved in the bending not the bending itself).

Fixed the electrical issues I had following a crash a few weeks ago. Installed bar end mirrors, brake light flasher and headlight modulator. Buell turn signals will be going on on Monday or Tuesday.

Trey had one of those "wrong backwards" batteries. So I put in the spare battery that I bought for Junior, but Junior didn't need it.
Re-keyed the seat lock to match the new gas and ignition key since ignition was worn out and we changed out those Saturday. Also put clip-on on Trey Saturday & removed scratched headlamp. Going to clean up wiring and put in a new one. Also trace that darned headlight modulator and remove it.

Rode from Oak Harbor to Bellingham; first ride on I-5. Fitted Buell turn signals. Trying to figure out ways to minimize vibration transmitted from handlebars to mirrors. She is locked (x3), chained, covered, alarmed, and living under the stairs of my apartment now.

You got the bar end weights in? I use bar end mirrors and have no vibes through them.

BTW you got a picture of the Buell signals on the bike? Would be interested to see them. And you got that electrical gremlin fixed?

I just put on some Napoleon style bar end mirrors after I broke one of the old ones in the crash, and now I can't see anything other than bouncing headlights when I check them. If I can't get them to be as clear as the ones I had before (which were usable, though the left one liked to unthread itself), I'll have to remove them and find something else. The electrical issues have all been fixed, and I'll post pictures of the Buell signals soon.

Spent all day yesterday rejetting my 450 and getting it out to it's new owner.  The 500 only got a new gas cap (Thanks addidasguy!).

I have the day off, and the weather put our boating plans on hold.  Instead I got some red heatshrink and prettied up my positive battery lead.  Having a blue cable for positive didn't sit well with me.

New cable with original red boot on the relay end, and spark plug boot on the battery end.

Installed on bike.  I should get a better connection on the negative lead as well, but to do it properly I have to get the tank off, both to chase the cable and also because soldering and heatshrinking both involve butane flame.  At least Ive got rid of the voltage drop between the battery and the negative connector, but I could make it a whole lot prettier.
Next Im going to piggyback a cigarette lighter socket or two in there, so I can leave my phone on charge under the seat and have the option of adding GPS.

I love what you did to that 450! Hopefully we can go on a ride soon

Thanks man.  I have all new intake boots, rings, jets, coming in the mail this week.  Give me two weeks and she'll be running like a raped ape!

Replaced the dead stator with a working one. The poor thing has been in the garage with her side cover off for two weeks!
I felt so guilty.
An 11pm test ride is friggin cold, even here in Cali. When does Spring come?  :dunno_black:  At least it's in the 60s during the day!

An unseen plus: Now I have a Tony Stark prop for the next time somebody tries to apply a costume theme to their "lets-rag-on-your-lack-of-creativity" college booze fest. Friggin Soc majors...

I love the look but hate it at the same time. I want one.

You did a good thing thar...on this forum, too.

Yesterday I ripped my Katana 750 apart.

Today I ripped my GS750 apart.

Tomorrow I will make them one bike.

You could try either "handle bar snake," or fill the bars with BB's like I did when I had clip-ons.. I haven't noticed any bad vibrations with my drag-bars and bar end mirrors.

I replaced a clutch lever two hours before my test, which I then passed.  It just snapped, honest.

Can anyone recommend an adhesive to reattach the suzuki plate on the clutch cover?  It was the only other casualty.
