Hi:

My 89 has always run rich on the LH side and fouled plugs.. I noticed that the there was more fuel in the LH float bowl than the RH.

I played with bending the metal tabs of the floats to raise the float height. Recently I noticed that the metal tab on the LH float had bent itself almost flat.

I've been reading the your previous posts and looked at the picture and description in Clymer's.on setting the float level and am still confused.

I've just installed new floats, needles and seats and I used the weight of the float resting on the needle to set the float height. (Just like I've done on any other carb I've worked on).

I had to really bend the metal float tabs to get the minimum measurement in the Clymer spec.

What does the the "spring" loaded plunger do on the needle...???

How does it affect the fuel level in the float bowl...???

C'mon man...that's easy..... you just have to use your open eye when you look at the numbers on the ruler.

Heh....

Really tho...the ruler method is easy...to me it is anyway.
