We can all make excuses about why things don't get shipped, item as described ,etc, etc. but it all comes down to ethics and morals. Most of us in this very un-trusting world try to take precautions but some still get stiffed....which also includes the sellers. A friend of mine sold a gixxer a few years back and was given a bonafide cashiers check(local) only to find out a few days later it was a genuine check but it was bogus since the persons girlfriend worked at a bank and processed (wrote) the check herself. He got screwed, never got the bike back and was out 7,000........ I agree its a big risk here on the net so use your senses. If it seems too good to be true pass on it! Talking to the person always doesnt help. It may give you piece of mind at that time but the good scammers can sell ice to an eskimo.

what is the seller's system? where do you find it? how do you use it?

New to the forum I have some parts I am interested in selling and I am worried about getting burned what is the best way to avoid this?  The buyer explained to take pics of the parts while holding a piece of paper with his email sounds good he saih he would send me a money order that includes shipping costs.  Sounds good to me but just thought I would see if other people have had luck doing it this way.  Thanks

I think it is a good idea. However, you could also use a sellers ebay rating (if they sell there).

Another thing I'd like to see is a list of good parts suppliers. Through various postings, I have found references to suppliers (like Twisted Throttle) that has some pretty neat stuff that I never would have thought of looking for. So besides bad sellers, lets get a list of good suppliers and a line card for them.

I'll start with high praise for my rear hugger from Custom-Airbrush user AirBrush). Excellent product and fast shipping.
Twisted Throttle called back and shipped same day.
The Mount Guys shipped same day (GPS, camera and other mounts)

I'm not to big on forums, whats a relevant post anyways?  Does this one count?  GStwins is a great site, I've had mine two years-just bought my first part off GStwins forum today.  I don't understand why 30 posts matters, I don't see it as a real deterant to scammers, seems like a layer of beareaucracy, just red tape.

I have some parts to sell and was thinking this site makes it pretty easy.  If you had a minnimum post count my parts may never get posted.  I'm not sure who that effects.

I've had good luck here except for the kid from California who I walked through an electrical repair and he promised me oatmeal raisin cookies.  The cookies never showed.  Little bastard!

I recently picked up a 2006 GS500F with 1,000 miles that I am parting out.

I'm a new member and I wanted to get permission to start a new thread with a link to my site and ebay store.

I read through the rules and wanted to ask first because I don't want to come off as someone who is trying to rip anyone off. I am setup with UPS and USPS and I ship most things the same day the rest goes out the next.
