My set arrived today and no, it was not an oversight Lanesplitter, my kit was missing the magic bolt and fitting instructions as well.  I have emailed them and, being the eternal optimist, I just know they have already identified and addressed the missing parts issue... but eternal pessimist tells me I will be waiting for another 2 weeks.

Buying parts off the internet should not be this hard  :technical:

I received the missing parts today so I'll be able to put everything together tomorrow.

Unsane - if you don't get the directions let me know and I'll email you the pdf.

MY sliders came today. All the parts are there, plus a sticker but no instructions. Beginning to wonder about this company. I bought Bar end weights off them a while back and got the goods fine but the delivery was very slow.

Ok buddha you need to produce some of those long engine bolts and find the perfect slider to go on the end for us..

Sorry now I have the instructions I realised that the extra long engine bolt they are suppose to provide (plus the nuts and washers to go with it) isn't there too. Now I'm upset!

Following my oopsie on Friday, I ordered a new clutch lever and a set of Oggie Knobbs (frame sliders) from Action Motorcycles today. Good Aussie price on the OM lever - $32 and I'll let u know how the sliders fit when I pick them up at the end of the week. Not cheap - $175 - but brans seems to have a good reputation and no postage stuff to worry about. Had a look around for a set of tube type case savers but they seem to have disappeared from the Aus market.

I got Oggys on my GS. Saved it once already at a low speed drop. Saw a set on eBay for $150 bucks but just had a look and they're not there anymore.

The replacement clutch lever turned out to be even better value when I picked it up today from the Action parts dept - $30 clean. Also, for Aussie owners, just had an email from Ron at Queensland based Motorcycle Adventure Products [sales@motorcycleadventure.com.au] advising that they can supply on order the Hepco and Becker PN501301 engine guards at $213 for black or $227 in chrome. I've already ordered a set of Okkies but I might look at the full tube case-saver kit at a late date.

Anybody get these installed?  Thoughts?  I got the replacement parts and instructions, but haven't put them on yet.
Good day to you!

Shaddow

I'm waiting for my part to come in. Hopefully it will be here in a couple of days. I've mounted them just off the engine casing for looks at the moment and they feel fairly solid at the moment but I won't want to test them till that front bolt is in.

Just picked up the Oggies from the accessories boys at Action in Parrammatta and what a pleasant surprise....they gave me a $15 discount without any asking!!! Brought the price down to $160, lovely grub!
Going to try and get some time to fit the Knobbs this weekend. Looks like a pretty straight forward job.

That bolt is the biggest problem. It was $10 or so a bolt and I had to buy a whole box.
Worse yet if I put in thicker end plates than the 1/4 inch I was using it wont fit. The method I am talking about probably will have to use 1/2 inch thick plates unless I make some serious design options.
For doing much of this I need a GS. That wont occour till mid april, and that is if the xs gets alive and jared still wants it for the GS. Sad, no GS for me.
Well the one that is in pieces can be cobbled back well enough to get the thing trialled out ... maybe. But that's even later than mid april.

Anyway I'll keep y'all posted, and it will look fugly ... fuglier than anything ever seen on a GS. But, protect the thing, it will.

Cool.

i dont mind cutting up my fairing for the other design but i want to see this installed. no idea where this would mount if you dont need to cut.

anyone have some for sale, either design.

Roxtar

I bought a set of these a little while ago, haven't installed them yet. Mine did come with all parts and instructions though.

Couple people have asked me for some pics of what they look like.
As I'm at work these the only pictures I have (ie sitting on photobucket) that I can share. I like them, haven't tested them.

OK so the there are 3 bolts. THey bolt from one side to the other right?

Unsane

Each side has:

2 bolts into the engine case
1 bolt onto the front engine mount (they give you an extended bolt and spacers)
1 bolt into a crossover bar (sits under the carbs)
