Just to clarify everything for those wanting to contribute to Ken's package. Srinath will deliver it to him. If you want to send a check, send it to: Srinath Seshadri, 9227 Swallow tail lane Charlotte NC 28269 with "Ken's Care Package" in the address line somewhere. If you'd prefer paypal, you can paypal me at dan@octaneonline.com and add "Ken's Care Package" in the comments line. I'll send a check for the total to Srinath. Unless Srinath has paypal - then it'd be easier to send it to him. Chime in here Srinath.

I'll also be sending my spare tank (dk. blue - rust free)  to Srinath for the package. I'd like to get $40 for it, which is quite a bit less than I paid for it. And I'll pay shipping. If anyone contributing doesn't think that's fair, please speak now!

Heal quick Ken!!

I have paypal... however I hate it... they take a decent sized bite out of it when you draw... ~4-5%... Checks help add a personal touch... I might copy the checks and add it to the package to show the wide range of people that pitched in.... Any thoughts... Nice meeting you Saturday Dan...
Cool.

I'll eat the paypal fee. I dont' know how many people will be keen on photocopies of their checks floating around. An electronic card or something might be nice.

Good to finally meet you too.

The Buddha

OK checks copies are bad ... OK I'll just keep names and handles then.
Cool.

like, what size of donation are we talking about here? i don't have much money, but i wanna help out a fellow GS'er, but i don't want to seem like a cheap-ass. so, what's appropriate?
If you think you can, don't. Many things start with "I think I can," and end with "Ow!"

Thanks all doing the legwork for Ken's care package!!!

Your choice... I am in for $10, and I met him a few times and was at that race... Some people from my work have also met him and they are in for 10 also... Just a rough guide. Send him a card if you want and dont send $$$, or like my wife says making a card is more personal ... its the gesture that counts.
Cool.
Srinath.

For those of us who are sending checks, who should we make them out to?

Common sense in not very common.

We got the tank, what else do you guys want to get him. Looks like we're gonna have a bit of money. More than I figured. Ideas?

dgyver

Does he need any other bike parts or gear?

I'll cut a check for $10 to Srinath tonight and get it in the mail tomorrow.  If I can find a second to duck into the drug store, maybe I'll pick up a card as well.

Thanks for getting this together guys!

I'm not sure what he broke...besides his collar bone, a rack of ribs, and his tank! Srinath?

The Buddha

OK the tail section is broken I think... the fiberglass 1 piece, the clip on was bent into a impossible position... it was pointing almost straight down parallen to the fork leg... the rest of the bike looked remarkably un hurt... The case savers were clogged with grass... possibly explaining why the damage was light. The front frame piece on his bike was hand made from aluminum channel... and sorta twisted up, but its thin aluminum piece... I guess that is it... If any more comes to mind I'll post back.
Cool.

I have an extra GSXR tach, one the older ones that start at 3000 rpms. It will plug into the one I have. Will gladly donate it if it will work for him.
