Not mad at all.

Off by 50 years!  That's great news!  Now I have more time! :icon_lol:

followed this one on my subaru site for years, it was the first thing that turned me onto gs500's and motorcycles in general.

now its time to bring it back from the grave! weathers starting to get warm, any plans to finish it out this summer?
if yer binders ain't squeakin, you ain't tweakin!

This week I ordered some parts needed to get this project back on track!  :thumb:  Going to get the fenders mounted up soon.  Also I have everything I need to put the new muffler on.

I am thinking of wrapping the headers.  What do you guys think?

Some progress now that the bike is at my house.  I made a panel to mount the frame petcock on.  I'll probably cover it with a piece of carbon fiber rather than paint it.  Tomorrow I will be working on relocating the ignition switch.

I need a new tank petcock.  They are very expensive new, and pretty expensive even used.  Do any of you have experience using the aftermarket petcock and plate sold here ---> http://www.partsnmore.com/parts/suzuki/gs500e/#product-08-0446 ?

No huge updates, but I have relocated the ignition switch and cleaned up and hid some of the wiring.  Next - finding a headight.

I got some adhesive backed carbon fiber today.  It's not the best quality carbon, but I think it turned out pretty good.  Then I cut my finger really deep!  I probably should have gone and got a few stitches, but I just bandaged it up and kept going.  The bike is slowly coming together.

Looks awesome!

Pingel makes an adapter plate that allows you to use any 3/8's NPT petcock, theirs or other brands.

Love the mods so far.  Keep the pictures coming!

Bracket for relocated ignition switch.  Next up...other small stuff, but it's progress.

Wow, I just read this entire thread in one sitting.

I love the way you have modified the bike. I have my daily driver GS, and a second one I just picked up for parts, which ended up being in much better shape than I thought. Now I am tempted to fix up the parts bike and do all kinds of mods to it. Damn you!  ;)

Finally got around to repairing, painting and mounting the front fender.  I'm so used to seeing the bike without the front fender that it looks strange to me with it on.

You can see the relocated ignition switch here.

Wow thats a crazy place to put the ignition switch.. what made you opt to put it there?

Looking very nice ;) Jealous of those gold rims

I can't speak for this particular project, but a lot of Honda's have the ignition about there (on the left side) on the bike.  I know my VTX does.  My scrambler is forward more but still not in the handlebar area.

get better with every photo!!

front fender doesn't look bad, but definitely does something to the front end tho. maybe trim it a bit to match the rear hugger? i think the hugger makes the rear, yer still going to use it right?

keep up the good work, can't wait to see a photo of this thing in action!

I put the ignition switch there simply because that is the only place that there was room enough for it to fit.

Thanks for the compliments!

Exhaust Version 2.0!  Sorry for the crappy pic, I can't get it out of the shed very easily right now but I wanted to see what it's going to look like.

Bike looks great - I love the seat, the GSX-R front end, gold wheels.

I have to ask since I just found this thread - have you actually ridden it since you started?
