Alright guys, the GS has moved on and it's time for the spare parts to go as well. Pretty random lot of parts. I'll list prices only because I know how much I hate it when people list things and say 'make an offer', so I'll put some prices as guidelines, but don't be afraid to make an offer if you need something and the price is too high. I'm just picking a number to start with. All shipping prices listed are USPS inside the US. I don't mind shipping elsewhere, as long as you cover the extra shipping. Paypal would be preferred, but I'm open to other options. I'm even open to trades if you've got anything interesting. All of the random parts were from a 1991 but should fit any year. Some of the stupid little parts will cost more to ship than I actually want for the part itself, if I even want anything for it. Those ones would probably be ideal to combine with something else.

Indicator light bulbs, bought these for the oil/neutral/signal lights, and I want to say they're the same bulbs as the speedo/tach, but I can't remember. Never used then. There are 3, I checked them out best I could, 2 looked the same and one looked different, so I want to say that the gauges and indicator lights use different bulbs. Otherwise maybe 1 isn't good anymore, but there was no loose filament inside the bulb so I don't think it was broken. $5 for the set and $1 shipping.

Top/handlebar clamp. Great shape. Black scuff where a key chain used to rub it, otherwise in great shape. Includes the rubber mounts, speedometer bushings(not in this picture, but are included!), even those stupid little bolt caps. $30 and $5 shipping

Random parts, bar clamps w/ bolts and bolt caps, 2 bushings for the gauges(other 2 go with the top clamp above). Sell it all for $5 plus $2 shipping, or I'll split some of it up if you only need random pieces.

Rear shock, worked fine as far as I know, replaced it with an R6 shock. In good shape, the little rubber bushing/bumper on the rod inside the spring is dry rotted and falling apart a bit, but that'll happen to rubber after 20 years, shouldn't affect anything unless you bottom your bike out often. $20 plus $8 shipping.

Steel lowering links. Supposed to lower the bike 2" if I remember correctly, but I can't guarantee that. Measures 7-1/4" center to center. $10 plus $3 shipping

Passenger peg. Judging by the angle of the mounting tab, it should be a left side peg. Comes with everything you need to mount it. Free with $5 shipping.

These are the rails that bolt to the subframe for bungee hooks, and lifting the bike on the centerstand. They're free with $7 shipping.

Like I said, if any of the prices are too high just let me know, happy to combine shipping on whatever. I'll try to keep this updated so if something is sold it gets removed from the list.

Put me down for the grab rail and the ignition advancer (now you know what to call it); I'll have to pass on everything else, but I'm sure you won't have a problem finding buyers.

I'll send you a PM within the next 24 hours to work out payment and shipping details... net connection keeps dying, so I''ve got to deal with that first.

TT, I wouldn't mind getting that throttle tube. If you don't want to ship it and drop it off at my buddies garage on the South Side that could work for me. Sending pm......

It's opener there in the wide open air...

would you separate that top black clamp from the clipons? I just want the clamp to mount my lights and like how it's grounded down compare to the polished one?

tt_four

Let me think about it. I don't mind splitting stuff up, but let me see if I get any interest in the set first.

NP. If you grind the other clamp one I'll take that one.  :thumb:

seamax: you could use a factory clip on top plate. Just round off the edges where the clips bolted on or leave as is.

I don't understand. you mean use the top plate from the '898 factory clipon?

adidasguy

Sounded like you wanted a top plate with the handlebar bracket machined off and a top plate to hold the instrument cluster. Am I correct in that?
The factory clip on top plate is just that, except it has the outer corners squared and tapped to hold the clips. You can round that off for appearance. Otherwise, the top plate is the same and will hold the instrument panel.

If he had access to an 89 top plate it'd be easiest just to use those bars instead of aftermarket clipons. If the other one doesn't sell I might be able to be convinced to cut that one up for you. Even if I sell you the one that's with the clipons now, I'll probably just cut up the intact one to go with the bars.

Let me know what you decide to do. The 89 top plate is hard to come by to begin with and it would be a shame to grind it up since they are rare. I'm still waiting for my vortex rear sprocket to come back from anodizing in 2 weeks and would like to put everything together to ride by then.

Someone did end up just buying the clipons and top clamp, but the forum is timing out every time I try to edit the listing. I'll just need to think about chopping up the 2nd one.

If you can chop it up consider sold.  ;)

for some annoying reason it won't let me update my original message, even though I've tried several times over the past 2 days. It just keeps timing out. To update the original list, the clipons/top clamp/brackets have been sold and shipped, the throttle tube is sold and shipped, the service manual is sold and shipped, the reflectors are also sold, but will ship tomorrow morning. sorry about the reflectors. I took them to work today to box up and ship, but they're just ever so slightly too small for the box!

seamax

any updates on whether you can/cannot cut the risers on the other top clamp?

tt_four

No one's bought it yet, so I'll probably cut it up. I was actually down there yesterday and was looking at it, but then I got too tired from not really eating much all day and just came back up and sunk into the couch with the dogs. I also found a gas tank petcock gasket, and one or two other parts I need to get pictures of.

seamax

Hey no problem. If you can cut it for me professionally like on a bandsaw I would appreciate it otherwise I can grab a cheap one of fleabay and take my sawzall and grinder to it.
