Well I'm a new bike owner (1990 GS500) and new to this forum and I need a brake lever. I know people have to be careful on here and generally they probably like a minimum time as a member and/or minimum number of posts.  Regardless I thought I'd try and wrangle a cheap part here and if it doesn't work out I'm cool going somewhere else because I know . 

What I need is a brake lever. I figure I can build a little bit of credibility here with a cheap part.  The other side of course I'm sure is that someone might not want to go through the trouble for such a cheap part.

Either way I need a brake lever and I'd like it by April 15 so if I haven't gotten any responses in the next few days I'll go ahead and order it from somewhere else.

I have adjustable brake levers (anodized black or plain aluminum silver) and one set of new Renntec engine bars.

Make me a reasonable offer for the bars and a brake lever and you'll have them by the 15th.
I say reasonable offer so you have a chance to build your credibility here and people will get to know you.
They can tell you I am very reasonable and reliable. (Sort of a GS500 parts hoarder in need of an intervention). Cleaning up my garage I found these bars which I bought last year. I don't plan to use them so just need to get rid of them/. They're new with the mounting hardware that includes longer engine mounting bolts to hold them.

PS: Didn't say if it was the right foot brake lever, but I have those, too, if that's what you wanted.

Thanks for the info.  I just need the hand brake lever.  I thought I saw one somewhere for like $10 -$25 + shipping.  Or am I way off on what I should expect to pay.

It was O.K. when I bought the bike but a stupid thing happened last night.  I had my bike on its centerstand on the sidewalk running next to my house. The ground was a bit soft and apparently the corner of my stand was just barely on the edge of the cement.  I didn't notice and ran inside for dinner or something.  I came back out and noticed the bike leaning against the house.  Apparently the ground was soft there and the right side of the center stand had sank in far enough for the bike to tip.  It didn't fall all the way over it somehow just caught enough of the house to bust the brake lever off.  I looked it over but couldn't find any other damage.  It was a pretty stupid of me.

I have one off my 97. I can let you have the lever plus the master cylinder for $25 shipped.
