So this is what I bought back in February:

And this is what I'm riding as of yesterday:

I went on a ride with the local Patriot Guard Riders (where I was the youngest by a good 30 years, and the only sportbike to be seen).

One of these bikes is not like the others...

Overall, I'm super-impressed with the way the paint turned out...especially for being so ridiculously cheap.

Looks good ! :thumb:

What is the name of that color? How did you come to that choice ?

I don't recall the name. It's the stock color that comes on Honda Elements. As for how I settled on it...I've always loved burnt orange on vehicles, my two favorite shades being Elements and Dodge Calibers. And the Element's paint was a little cheaper.  :thumb:

I'm waiting for weather to warm up before I paint mine, and I was originally planning on going a different direction, but that paint job looks fantastic!  I may have to consider something more along those lines..............nice job!

I have a friend who paints cars as a hobby (specializes in restoring muscle cars, mainly Mustangs, for shows/competitions). He did it for me for the cost of paint, just for the practice. Came out to about $200 for the entire thing.  :woohoo:

I left the helmet black; I prefer not to match it with the bike, so that it can be kept and used when the bike is sold.  ;)
There IS, however, enough left to do my seat cowl and rear hugger...when I get around to ordering them.
(I'll do the front fender at that point, too.)

COOL! I've, always, liked that color!  :)
The back of the seat looks different. Did you remove the grab bar?

Removed the grab bar...and bent the shaZam! out of the seat.
I put the seat on at one point, without connecting the cable to the lock. So, to get it back off, I had to literally fold it in half to reach the latch. I have a new on enroute...but, until it gets here, the aft of my seat is sticking up about 2" higher than it should.

Looks nice. Any idea how many coats of base and clear went on?

murf425

Not a clue. I figured the best way to ensure it looked good was to make sure he had everything he needed, and then just stay the hell out of the way 'til it was done.  :icon_lol:

Didnt he sell that? I remember seeing it. I liked the look so much that I would have bought it in a second if I lived close.
