I just took a look inside my gas tank and behold a palace of rust.   I am now looking for a gas tank for a decent price.  preferably dent and pinhole free.  I don't mind if it needs paint.  If you have something, shoot me a price with shipping to 45502.  Thanks guys.

We of the Seattle group might end up with one, but what is a good tank going for? $175 on ebay. I have a brand new one on the shelf I paid $500 for 6 months ago (red with the pink squiggles) plus postage from Germany (Junior's brand new red tank came from the same shop). Trey's yellow one might become available since he went purple. It was a little over $500 for the tank, plastics and fender. Subtract out what like new fenders and tails go for, we're looking at $300-$350 for a new perfect used tank.

So I guess lots depends on what the market value is for a perfectly good tank. What are people willing to pay for a tank ready to use without dents and at most extremely monor surface rust in a few spots from being empty? (The purple tank had some, but so little and just surface that we didn't even have to rinse out the tank.) ((Same with Juniors original thank, stored for 6 months, that went to another Seattle person.))

If we could determine price ranges, probably more people would be willing to part with extra tanks.

im just looking for something without major dents and minor rust.  the rest of the bike is flat black.  its a bit of a project and far from a looker so i was just looking for something that would be functionally sound.

I have one off my 97. It isn't perfect, but it's solid, inside and out. These are the best pics I have. I might be able to get some better ones in a day or two if you want them.
