I am looking to cut the long plastic piece back on my 09 GS500F its the plastic piece the liscence plate sits on. I just want to cut it back a little shorter I think it would look nice being able to see more of the rear tire any thoughts?? whats the best tool to use to make a nice straight cut ban saw?

Yeah, thats a 2 min job with any kind of hand cutter (like a dremmel) or even a hack saw if you have a steady hand ;)

The only thing you'll need to decide is how high you wanna go..I went level with the bottom of my plate on my '09F.

I used a dremel to cut mine, fairly easy

PM me if you want a pic.

Remember to check local laws. Many states require a rear reflector. Good idea anyway - added visibility. Leave an extra inch and a half, drill 2 holes in the fender and bolt the reflector to the tail just below the license place or use red reflector license plate bolts. (I don't use the reflector bracket and just stick the reflector directly onto the fender)

PS: Two reasons it is long: (a) European license plates are twice as high and (b) some states require that a rear fender extend down a certain distance from the top point of the rear tire.
