The rubber socket on my parking light ripped in half as I was removing it from the bike. It took me 15 minutes to fish the bulb out of the headlamp housing!  So I'm looking for another one, or any ideas on how to fix? I think if I glued it together it would just rip apart again. Pictured is the part I am looking for.

That's one of those things you rarely ever remove. Put in a good LED lamp. Clean it good then use sticky neoprene insulating tape to repair the rubber cup and put it back on. Home depot: 2" wide about 1/8" thick and pretty dense neoprene. Either in plumbing or furnace department.
This bulb works great as the running light:

There are cheaper, but you get what you pay for. Test to be sure you have the bulb in the right way before closing up as it is polarized (won't work if put in backwards)

Thanks, I decided to do exactly what you suggested. I order an LED bulb, and will be installing it and will probably just glue the whole thing in there with some kind of removable glue (maybe rubber cement). I went with a 25-LED bulb, I wanted something really bright because I plan to wire my headlight so it doesn't come on until the bike is started. So if I'm parked on the side of the road without the bike running, the parking light is the only light I will have on in front.

That's what the PARK position of the key does. It turns on the parking lights. No need to dig into the wiring to change anything.
I think that's what I have in mine. The link was just an example.

Yes I'm aware of the "parking" feature. I never use it, you have to lock the bars to the side to turn that on.

What I am doing is wiring the headlight so it doesn't come on until the bike is started (to aid in starting power). So when I flip my key on, getting ready to go or just because I want some lights on for visibility, this parking light will be the only thing that is illuminating the front. So I went with a 25-LED bulb so it will be extra bright.

Here is the finished result. The LED bulb is brighter than stock, and draws less power.
