Yuri.

Gave the chain a really throughly clean and for the first time applied the Dupont Multi-use, the chain now moves much smoother. :)

Well I finally did it. A Fenderectomy  :woohoo:

I cut the corners with a dremal and realised that it was not the best way to cut plastic. The dremal turns too quickly no matter what speed and start to melt the plastic making a gooey mess. So I got a pair of long blade tin cutters out and it worked great. Nice clean straight cuts and I was finished. Even the wife agreed it looked a lot better.

I did end up drilling new holes and reattaching the back reflector on.

What a masterpiece :thumb:

Put the radguard on the 919. Sponge bathed the GS500. Blew them both a kiss.  :kiss3:

Found out that I have a $270 credit at my local bike store, need to find out where it ame from, I don't think the money is mine. I'm sure it came as a result of the mix up with the tyres I ordered, but not 100% sure.

It's not my money, I won't put to much time into tracking it down, but I'm not spending it.

Finally adjusted the clutch using the access plate on the side cover, instead of at both ends of the cable, and now realize the cable needs to be replaced

Trey (the purple one) got a new chain. Previous owner apparently didn't maintain the chain. When I oiled it, it the started to squeak and links were sticking after the o-rings swelled back up. Got a 2009 factory chain with 240 miles and sprockets in a $15 box-o-bolts (what a surprise!). Perfect condition. Trey is very happy with that chain.

I guess we can thank the squids that buy a new bike then go out and destroy it. Parts for cheap!

Got my baby new headlights and replaced those nasty portable televisions with some lighter and brighter mini signals. She looks so mean now  :icon_twisted:

New, black and rather expensive Laverda handlebars. Fully adjustable and really good looking.

Testing vibes on a 100km ride tomorrow morning, pics to follow once I hacksaw off the excess and get the positioning 100%

Made a custom rack that mounts in place of the rear grabhandle (had to try out the new welder).  Installed one of those rear brake light flashers. Installed new rear brake pads.

Turned my 06 500f into a streetfighter in the last couple days. No Im not selling the fairings so dont ask me! Just waiting for the headlight mounting brack so I can mount up the stock headlight and add the turn signals to the bracket. Looking at possible buying the jardine exhaust as well to give it some more sound. Removed the decals from the rear seat fairing as well because they were sun faded. Will post pics when project is complete. I still need to get my damn horn working!

Yesterday, bought a brand spanking new battery, after I had to push start to get home from work the day before. Annoyingly however, despite the manufacturer claiming this battery fits the GS500, it is fractionally smaller than my original battery so doesn't fit snugly in the battery tray, and the vent tube is on the opposite side. Couldn't find any foam, so stuffed bubble wrap down the side to prevent it sliding around.
I like a non-sequitur as much as the next Giraffe.
