Hi All,

I have a deep scratch (to the metal) on the tank of my GS500F.
It is the blue colour.

I am trying to find some touch up paint but apparently suzuki dont have any and all my local parts stores say they can only help me out if i have a colour code (which apparently isnt for bikes anyways).

- Does anyone know what the color code for the suzuki blue on a GS500F is? or is there some way to find out (will it be on the bike, i know cars have a sticker with paint codes).
- If not does anyone know where i can pick up some touch up paint (in melbourne australia, or online that ships to aus)

I dont want to get the whole tank resprayed and would rather fix it myself.

Cheers

The WIKI has color codes.
You can get color codes (and paint iif you wish) at www.colorrite.com (enter year, make, model and get ALL colors used)
Strange your Suzuki dealer doesn't have the color code. It is usually the last 3 characters of a part number such as the fuel tank:

TANK ASSY,FUEL( (GS500F E3,E28,E95 FOR CWH )
49100-01DE0-YKY

Thanx for the link.
$31.90 for a small bottle of touch up paint, delivered, kinda bites, but is to be expected. I passed on the clear coat. I can get that anywhere.  :icon_neutral:

Also if you got an '04 it is two stage color  :whisper: twice as expensive!

Colorite is expensive but the paint match is perfect.  If you are getting the jar of touch up paint you need to shake it for a while.  It seems to take a long time for the paint to mix.  Don't rush this shaking part.  I did the first time and had to do it over again.  I used it for a chip on my tank and you can't find the chip anymore.

Cool thanks guys.I went to colorrite but they don't go back to 94.I will try it with a paint code and see what I find.

Enter the paint code and it is there. I posted the link in one of your other threads.
Here it is:

There are 2 purples. I have the touch up pens so we can see which is best - though I can't tell any difference.

Whomever I got the purple tank from (sorry - blond thing - I forget who) can remind me if it was '92 or '94

Hi Guys,

Why is it that I can't find any information for the GS500F after 2009 in the US?

Did the US stop importing the GS500F after 2009?

I wanted to find the color-codes for my GS500F 2010 model and I am not sure if the Pearl White and Blue colors used on my bike are the same as the previous years.

Here is a pic of my GS500F which is White and Blue

Any help on the color-codes for my bike would be appreciated, as I need to buy some touch-up paint to touch-up some minor chips on the fairing.
Thanks,

Your bike is really same as '09, as they stopped importing to U.S. due to updated emissions regulations.  So use the color codes from '09.

Jalaski,

The US didn't get a 2010 model but we did in Australia - Canada did too I believe. You'll find the overall blue/white look is the same But the chevron/decal pattern is different - Canada vs Aust. And both are close to the 2009 colour scheme.

If you want to be sure, get in touch with a Suzuki dealer and ask them for the colour codes. Or do as Addy said and get a part number and look for the colour code on it there.

Hi Michael,

That's what I did last week exactly and the Suzuki dealer gave me a long speach about Suzuki colours being only Suzuki Japan/Australia specific and won't mean anything to a pannel beater or someone wanting to colour-match.

I said, so how are the pannels beaters are supposed to fix damaged bikes without knowing the colour-code?? He said, all Suzuki panels come colour-coded when they are ordered based on the VIN, so that was the end of our conversation and it didn't make sense to me at all.

Thanks mate, I actually like the blue tank better, but I had no choice, as this is the bike I found when I was shopping and it only had 1,700kms on the clock since new, so I couldn't pass on it.

Oy, the wording of jalalskis first post made me cancel out any other possibility.  I should have known when he replied back 'thanks mate' lol

The '09 paint is different from the AU '10 model paint, and it wouldnt surprise me if it was more than a pattern change.  So follow up on finding it via the part numbers on any of the fairings/plastics. The link below shows examples how it works. The last three numbers/letters of the part number is the paint code.

Thanks Bboy and I really menat it the last time as well LOL :)

I know that the part number for my white centre fairing is: 94411-0BE00-YBD

So the above confirms what you said that the Pearl White of the 2009 model is exactly the same colour code for my 2010 model.

I believe the Metallic Blue colour would also be the same (YKY)

P.S. The GSWiki has a listing of the fairing stickers set and none of them match-up with the part numbers I obtained from the Suzuki dealer in Australia.
Thanks,

Yeah I just gave that link to show examples. The wiki needs updated, the page I linked only goes upto 01. There is nothing on colors codes past '06.  Even the stock pictures only go upto '08.

Anyways, glad you got it sorted.
