So I just installed those wiki pegs today...feel better, look better.  I'm wondering though, how tough are they?  Can you rise up on them to smooth out bumps, etc, without them bending (or worse, breaking off)?  Just curious.  Don't need any catastrophes.

I bounced around on mine plenty. They're definitely not as strong as stock but they should be perfectly fine to hold somebodies weight. Just make sure you check the bolts in them every so often to make sure they don't come loose and try to spin when your weight is on it.

Didn't put a set on the back.  With the way the pegs are arranged I'm not worried about them matching, and passengers will probably prefer/feel safer with the stock rubbers.  Did this mod primairily for the functional benefit, but am surprised at how much better they look.

They're easy enough to put on.  The most time consuming/irritating part is grinding down the humps so they fit, but if you have a dremel it's no problem.  NOTE that the wiki says shim them out with 2x 3/16" washers...those don't come close to fitting.  Found one zinc-coated 1/4" washer (get 'em at home depot in the drawer) provides about the same "play" as stock.

Found the washer bag, they're "Grade 8 -- 1/4" 6.4 Zinc AE-H/15-H," whatever that means.  About perfect in terms of the amount it shims...3/4" in diameter, ~1.5mm thick.  

I've had them on the front of Flick for about three years now and I bought them off of Grommet and they still hold up fine I stand up on them going over rough railroad tracks at least once a day. The only downside is everyso often the left peg seems to find a way to jab into my calf. Still, got a decent bruise from two weeks ago.

I believe I put CBR900RR rear pegs on for my front pegs.  It was a long time ago.  It involved a lot of grinding w/ the bench grinder because I wanted them to be able to flip up like stock but they are nice.  A little bit lower which is great for tall me and definitely sexier.  The only problem I have with them is when I accidentally kick one up and I have to try and find it to flip it back down while riding.  I'll probably eventually try to rig up a spring to keep make them stay down unless forced upwards.

Out of curiosity, I read the Wiki part on pegs and all the work to modify pegs AND it stated you can't buy aluminum pegs for the GS500.
My dealer gets them - off the shelf. No mods. Just buy them and put them on in place of the stock pegs. Can't understand all the work involved unless someone enjoys tinkering with the non-GS500 pegs to make them fit.

Adidas, what's the model and all, that of those pegs. Maybe I can find them online?

Aurora Suzuki found them in one of their catalogs. Seems http://spieglerusa.com/ carries them.
Looking at the LSL site, they also make adjustable brake AND clutch levers but haven't found a US dealer yet. Saw them on the site http://www.lsl.eu
I will be checking Aurora Suzuki. LSL seems more available in Germany, UK and Australia.

get longer bolts for the ebay pegs. The short bolts they ship with stop in the skinnier part that goes into the pegs, but its threaded all the way through where the mount gets thicker and stronger.
I was trying to straighten out a bent center stand and bouncing on the pegs which snapped one of the pegs off, but that was around 250lbs bouncing on the pegs. So they're pretty strong.

What length/thread/head size?

I had spare bolts in the bolt drawer so I don't know the size. I'm trying to find those LSL pegs but the cost of them is making me think about the wild hair adjustable model. Only concern about lowering them is I already drag my shoes on the current ebay pegs.

How hard would it be to grind down the GSXR pegs without a power grinder? Is there any kind of hand-grinder I could pick up cheap at a hardware store that would work? Would a file do? I just don't want to spend a lot on a power tool I would probably only use once.

A file also works fine, I have a dremel and the file takes a lot off evenly.

I have one of those harbor freight grinders, I love it. Of all the cheap tools I've bought there, that one definitely seems way more sturdy than it should for the $15 I paid for it.

I'm just about to order a pair of GSXR600 pegs, but I'm wondering whether any year will work. There seem to be 2 types for sale on eBay, for the 96-99 and the 06-08 years. Will either of these work?
