Well it's official
Hi Guys, I've been wanting to buy a GS500 for a while but for the past few years finances just have not been cooperating.. but I just bought one. It is a project though.. I bought it for 300 dollars currently registered but "seized".
It needs just about one of everything so I'll probably be asking a lot of questions. I do have some experience with bikes. As a matter of fact you guys might get a kick out of my old racing website  http://www.erlenbachracing.net

Well time to tear the top end down and see the damage...  Ed

Hi, Ed!

Welcome aboard!  You're name is not unfamiliar to me!  I had a 73 RD-350 a few years ago, and can remember your name from a number of 2-stroke forums that I used to frequent.  I moved on to the GS 500 back in 2007 - and have not been sorry (though truth be told, I do miss the rush of a two-stroke when it comes on the pipe - but it just did not fit in with my needs).

Everyone aboard here is very friendly and helpful and more than eager to help.

Cheers!

Fantastic!  Welcome aboard.  I've seen your name bandied about in various places in years past.  I'm sure you'll be a great resource to have around here.   :icon_razz:

I checked out the photos on your Web site and must say I LOVE the two pics of pipe work by Runner of Japan.  That's a skill / art I wish I will someday develop.

Yamaha RD350 was a stokin bike! Wish I had one in my garage! Then again, maybe I'd get into big trouble, but it would be FUN getting there!   :woohoo:

Welcome Ed.  I am a noob here as well but I'm also very familiar with your work on 2-stroke engines.
