Hi guys
I m having a issue and don't know where to start to look, my bike wont start. It's kinda werid. I used the search but could not find anything

I rode it about a week ago (everything was fine)  and try to start it this week and nothing. Let me give you more info about it

-bike is stored outside under a cover and it was raining all week before

-it's a 2004 with about 15000km on it.

-when i put the key to on, it's didn't get power at first, but somehow after a couple of tries, i got power.

-so i try to crank it, and i get a buzz sound from the right side on the seat panel ( for about 1sec) and i lose all power. No way to get it on again. So I try maybe 10 mins later... play with the ignition a bit on off on off. Come back and somehow i get power again, try to start it again and same thing, buzz for a sec and lose all power.

When I got power, my light where on , same for gauges and horn works too.

So I pull my multimeter and check the battery voltage, and i get 12.8v. so i guess my battery is ok? I checked the fuse closes to the engine and it's seams fine

Where do I start to check... ?? Is it's the relay? The startor? The regulator?

any held would be appreciated.  thx

Start simple: Are the battery terminals tight?  Good ground?  Does it start with a jump from another battery?  Have you load tested the battery?  Will it bump start?

Yep, I'd start with the "battery terminals might just need to be cleaned and tightened" from that description - classic crappy connection symptoms.

Try checking the voltage with the lights on, and be sure to check "the voltage connected right to the battery terminals" and also "the voltage connected to the wires connected to the battery terminals." It can be hugely different if terminals need to be cleaned, and you have the lights on so current is being drawn.

Then again, a crappy battery can have volts until you ask for them, which is why Jessie is suggesting the load test as part of the suite (lights on is a limited sort of load test you can do at home.)

soo I should try to take a wire brush and clean the terminal of the battery and connectors?

I'll give it a go and try to mesure the the voltage when there is load, at the wire and terminals and shot back with the results tomorow or soo

thx for tips, at least I know where to start!

mister

If your battery has caps on the top, make sure the fluid is at the correct level.
