Preferably alive, my wife and kids love them. I know you guys consider them in the same catagory as we do crows.

We consider them as we do crows - but - they are protected in most of the country.

I know where heaps of them sit in trees. It's an hour away. maybe if I have a chance on the weekend - if course, they'll probably be gone when I go, but we'll see.

A mobile target. That's gonna make this an interesting challenge to get.

About the only way I can think to do wild live ones is to park the bike nearish to them, cover it in bird seed and wait for an hour.

whttnbrg

But then you will have to ride home with all that seed and bird crap on your seat  :icon_eek:

mt Cootha end of the Western F/way there is a flock.... they are dam pests lol

i got my car brand new in 2009 and the second time i drove it to work i got attacked by them almost ripped my bumper off. you know they have been moved on from there 3 times now and they keep coming back, i thinki should just be glad they only go after the cars and not the bikes.

i know they did move the birds when they started the new tunnel extension but knowing them they will be back.

Just a little BUMP to remind someone to get this challenge...

MVent03

It's not wild, but I can get one with a cockatoo. Mine. .   ;)

mister

Needs to be Wild.

Still need to check out Mt Coot-tha. I rode for an hour to the spot I know, windy day. And, of course, not a darned bird to be seen. Drat and double drat.

I'm looking forward to getting in on the (challenge/race/scavenger hunt) just as soon as an Aussie can snap a pic of those birds!

Paulcet

The time limit is almost up anyway. Keep watching.

I could get a Wild Kangaroo in a heartbeat. These cockatoos roam around a bit too much. The hunt continues...

I'm currently unable to ride till I get the tyre replaced. At the moment my bike is the back of the box trailer hitched up to a 4x4 so it can go get a tyre tomorrow, so unless I'm lucky and can find one while driving around like that, I'll miss the timeline.

whttnbrg

Not to concerned about what kind of Cockatoo, Extra points for a Red Tailed, Short billed black, or a Palm. You guys said you wanted a "Aussie" Challenge  :D

I tried for cockatoos on the weekend, actually found some, too bad they were flying one direction and i was riding the other lol

I can't get it cause I have lost my damn bike key.
I like a non-sequitur as much as the next Giraffe.

adidasguy

This could be open to interpretation.

Exactly what is a "cockatoo"?

a) Spanish slang for two piles of doggie doo doo
b) Two guys doing it
c) A tattoo on a certain body part
d) a type of bird
e) how a retarded rooster sounds in the morning
f) a redneck slang for "time to chicken both your guns"

I saw a flock at work today but had the work ute instead of the GS  :icon_neutral:

Wish I'd seen this challenge sooner. There's always a few hundred of them gathered out the front of the school across the road of an evening. These were the best shots I could get, the light was fading and they flew off before I could re-shoot them.

If these count, then your bike next to the entrance sign for a state/national forest.

adidasguy

And the winning entry is "D": a Type of Bird!

mister

I thought "entrance sign for a state/national forest" had been done, but it appears not.

Away we go...
