Gotcha, well it is going to take a little luck and a little skill it seems. Hummmm. I think I might be better getting handle bars, but the work might be worth the clip-ons. I'll post pictures when I decide lol haha.

Do Clubman bars fit on the GS500F without any clearance problems?

The correct ones for thge "F" models are readily available from Germany.
Here are a couple examples so you know what to look for.

This is just what showed up today as new listings. Listings never note the difference but are easy to identify unless the photo is taken at an odd angle, then there are markings and dimensions that give 100% ID of which they are. The top plate is the same for all 3 types of clip-ons.

If you're in the military, you probably have contacts in Germany that can pick them up for you to save on shipping costs.

You have to know how to spot the difference in the 2 European types. Other threads have more photos and details on the differences.
The nice thing is they are a direct replacement. If you don't like them, put on something else and sell them. These do not go down in value due to the high demand for them in the USA.
Sometime I'll inventory my stock of the European ones and sell off the extras.

Weird that they say the won't fit the 'closely mounted instruments' of the Australian E model. I thought all GS500's had the same tach/speedo setup worldwide...
