Posting here as no one seens to have been reading the Europe meet & greet area for a couple years. So here goes.

Adjustable brake and clutch levers: I found them listed on the www.lsl.eu web site. They are the same company that makes the aluminum pegs for the GS500.

Is there anyone in Germany that is willing to go to a dealer and get them for me? Or tell me a dealer that will ship to me? I want 3 or more sets, prefer black but silver will be OK. Might also be available in the UK. I can paypal the funds. I know they're expensive, but look really nice.

I noticed that MMPC in Melbourne also carries LSL so anyone down under care to look into this?

The only USA dealer for LSL does not carry the levers, just the pegs.

Modell    Baujahr    Typ    Artikelname    Artikelnummer    Preis (€) inkl. Mwst.

SUZUKI     GS 500E   Alle Alle  Bremshebel  200-R17   99,95

SUZUKI     GS 500E  Alle  Alle  Kupplungshebel  200-L03  99,95

(PS: I have sent an email directly to LSL but don't know what they will say about shipping directly to me. )

If there is someone willing to do this I would be in as well if you were so so kind!

adidas, can you maybe PM me some info on those pegs. I still cant find an online source.

Found levers on
http://www.hesa-motorsport.de/shop/catalog/suzuki-gs-500-c-93_261.html?name=GS+500
but somehow have to figure out payment. Still, someone willing to help would be appreciated.

Pegs are available on-line from
http://spieglerusa.com/
then use the "find a dealer". They are listed as the US distributor and the only one I have located, which then refers you to a local dealer.

My local dealer Aurora Suzuki gets them. I'm sure you could do a credit card order with them or an on-line order or locate a dealer in your area.

I've emailed a couple places working to locate the levers. The pegs seem to be easy to find. I want to get in one set of levers first to be sure there are no problems. Once I can get that done and all is OK, maybe we can get people together for a bulk order to save some shipping costs.

296 dollars for levers? Ouch. I would love to have a pair but thats high.

I've completed the order with hesa-motorsport. They got right back to be on now to pay with paypal.
I'll report when they come in. Should be in a week or so.
Really, not much more expensive that HSV levers at $125 each. When you consider you need to change the perch and probably the clutch cable to get an HSV clutch lever, the price is the same or less. Definitely less work - no perch or cable replacement required.
Their pegs are really good so I think their levers will be equally as good. The GS500 ts really popular in Germany. Seems most all aftermarket parts are German (i.e. Gimbel and others)

I havent really looked into levers, though it is a long term plan. First I would like to do HID conversion, then exhaust, K&N and jets, then some lower bars... Last is levers and I would say that after that, she's 'done'.

However now that you mention it, I guess thats the cheapest option we have for levers.

:cookoo: You need to look harder because those aren't cheap. If you want matching made for the GS500 adjustable brake AND clutch levers than those might be it but you can get levers for the GS at a fraction of that cost. I got a nice red pair of clutch and adjustable brake of ebay for $50

New OEM ones are about $25.

I dont like the stock levers much. I was going to go with ASV like they use on dirtbikes, but IDK what will/wont fit... But enough thread jacking here... Let us know how it goes adidas.

adidasguy

I did get ASV to fit with a Honda S4 perch, ;ever and custom clutch cable that has a 90 degree bend as opposed to the 45 dgree. Others have used an SV650 perch. I also filed an ASV to fit a stock perch, but doesn't have as much travel (but enough to work)

I have ordered the LSL from Hesa, and now I received email from LSL that they will sell directly since their US distributor will not carry LSL levers. 2 sets now on order. Its good the GS500 is very popular in Germany. Lots of after markets available there. I guess time to go to Berlin again!

I'll keep you updated when they arrive.

I've used the aftermarket adjustable levers for the brake. I like the ASV better. Plus you can buy the OEM adjustable lever, too. They just stopped putting them on somewhere around 2006, I guess to save a dollar on manufacturing costs.. The older adjustable brake levers fit the same.

When buying matching sets of aftermarket is the clutch lever may not have the slot deep enough for the newer clutch switches. The older switches that had a separate wiper and PC board had a shallower slot. You might need to deepen the slot on the clutch switch or you'll break the clutch switch. Compare the after market one with what you take off and remember to remove the switch BEFORE you remove the lever or you'll break the switch. Clutch levers with the deeper slot works on older and newer bikes. The shallow slot only works with the older type clutch switch.

I saw saw that and was wondering the same thing. I was thinking it's an extension but that sounds ridiculous.

Many of the ads state the picture may not be the actual product because they use the same stock photo for all their ads.

I wish I could find someone that had real photos of each ASV clutch lever - then I could find the closest match for the GS500 but all use the same stock photo. (There was one site that did have separate photos I saw 9 months ago and can't locate them anymore or they changed their site. Dang!)

Well, I've got LSL levers coming and if they work I'll be selling my ASV levers. I hate to - those ASV brake levers feel sooooooooo nice.

jeffdodge

I am interested in the ASV levers. What do you think you will be asking?

Wait until I see if the LSL work OK and I'm happy with them AND if none of the other West Seattle GS500 Club members want them. Locals get first dibs - always.

jeffdodge

jeffdodge

Got those levers in yet? I would love to see them.

adidasguy

I have 2 sets coming. One from a dealer in Germany and one set direct from LSL. I requested express DHL small packet so I should get a set this week. Maybe both?

I complained to LSL (directly, in Germany) that Speigler USA - their USA distributor - doesn't carry ANY Suzuki levers for ANY model of Suzuki bike. They stock levers for a few other brands, but none at all for Suzuki. I even emailed them and they said they won't order Suzuki levers. Go figure?

jeffdodge

I have to change my clutch perch anyway its off of a dirtbike. What asv was it you had for the GS master cylinder? Ill just get a GSXR perch or something for my clutch...
