Well I have a confession to make. I have become quite tired of my Gs, its to slow, it dosent look cool enough, and its just simpley to damn small for my huge ass and long legs, well that was until yesterday.

I receantly found http://www.sportbikes.ws/ from this website;  http://www.linesthemovie.com/

I haddent gone for a group ride before, and was feeling quite intimidated with all the bad ass crotch rockets that were supposed to be going on this ride, and was very concerned about being the slow guy, and getting left behind.
NOT the case. We rode out to the coast yesterday, and took a few nice twisty oregon roads. But the kicker was Highway 53. It is 19 miles of pure sportbike heaven, nothing but 15-30 mph switchbacks and very short straits.
On the way in I rode very conservative, and right in the middle of the pack. But on the way back through 53 I literally rode the piss out of the Gs. Right on the tail end of the fast pack all the way through, and as long as there werent any straights I kept right with the group.

Needless to say I am no longer discontent with the Gs, and am thinking about ways to make it better, and more comfortable on those LONG rides. Who needs R1 power when you can ride WFO and keep up with the fast guys in the twistys.

Here is the link to a few pictures from the ride. http://www.sportbikes.ws/showthread.php?s=&threadid=30854&perpage=15&pagenumber=1

Yup I know that feeling...My GS is great on any road that isn't straight. Once the road is straight the GS fun factor his a BIG WHOPPIN--0--:( I havn't done any 200+miles rides yet but I know that my 6'-2 body frame is a squeez on the GS ;)  ...Most days I ride I come back home satisfied knowing I like my bike..But there are other days when I feel like I should have walked :nana:

I went on a few rides on Sunday morning that were over 200 miles and it's no problem.  I fill up in the town gas station and fill up again when I get back.  My 2002 has the larger tank and has a good range.  There are times when I don't even get off the bike to stretch my legs.  The key with keeping your butt from getting sore is make sure it don't get too big and shift your position forward or backward every once in a while.  The shift does not have to be anything radical an inch or two is plenty.  The GS is a blast.  If you want a different bike just dial in 8,000 rpm and you got it.
I just purchased a V-Strom 650 on Saturday but I will never give up my GS no matter how many bikes I have in the future.

I have been very interested in the DL650 myself.  Please keep in mind to drop me an e mail and let me know your impressions as you pile up some miles.
Thanks, and good luck.
