i'm having some major trouble getting the fuel filter screwed onto my gas tank.  does anybody know what size screws to use?  i lost one of them, then went to home depot to match it up, but they said they don't carry that size!  now what?

CasiUSA

:o wow, Home depot doesnt's have it?
That's a pretty standard metric bolt. I bet Home Depot does have it, and the clerk just is either too unqualified to find it, or too lazy (As has been my general experience with buying anything from home depot :x )
Try a smaller local hardware or automotive store, if they don't have the exact size, they'll haveeither an allen headversion to fit, or something else.

ya that should be a metric type thread....go to Lowe's they have this display where you can thread one of the screws in and it will tell you the thread number...then just pull out the corresponding stock location.....

Are you refering to the petcock or the shut off valve bolt  that is missing?...I know off the top of my head that the valve bolt is 10mm

it's the screws that connect the fuel chicken to the gas tank.  i think i'm gonna have a friend of mine rethread it though.  that way i can just get the corresponding screw.  i wasn't going to do this, but it turns out that the threads are stripped anyway.  i wonder how that happened?

I don't think Home Depot carries much in the way of metric... I know Ace Hardware has it :)  That Lowe's thing is pretty cool... measure your own bolts  8)
