Rear brake running light doesn't work...

Ugh and meh.  Just when I think I got this beast back together again, every other person honks at me tonight and tells me the rear brake light isn't working.  After taking a look, the running light (i.e., light that runs with no brakes on) doesn't work, and when I hit the front brake it doesn't light up.  But, when I hit the rear brake it does light up.

I installed the new headlight (doesn't use parking light), which is the only wiring thing it could be that I changed.  Otherwise, something is damaged.  Any thoughts?
Good day to you!

Have you checked you haven't bumped the wire that connects to the brake light actuator on the front brake lever?

I actually noticed that wire had been pulled out the other day, and didn't know what it did.  The connecters were goobered...straightened them, plugged it back in, and went about my business.  Guess tonight was the first time I'd ridden at night.

Either way, pulled off the brake switch, popped off the rear cap.  Messed with it a bit, and got it to the point where the brake light was on all the time full strength, but no running light.  Then the thing fell apart in my hands in a million pieces.

So, I guess I need a new switch.  Hope that's the problem.
Good day to you!

Sounds like it probably is the problem.
