Hey everyone,

I was in an accident couple weeks back and i think its time to replace my bent rear brake lever.  But I can't seem how to uderstand how to do this. I have the service manual and there is nothing in there (at least nothing i can find) about actually removing the lever.  Can anyone chime in some advice.  I'd really appreciate it.

Cheers

If you go on bikebandit you can pull up a blown up schematic of the parts, that may be of some assistance. Looks to me like the actual pedal is held onto its shaft by a pinch bolt similar to the shifter lever.

Wait, are we talking about the pedal or the hand brake lever?Just be careful not to break the brake light switch on the bottom of the hand lever. It should be as easy as removing the brake light switch and then the bolt holding the lever on.
PICS are GONE never TO return.

It's just a pinch bolt holding it on.Remove the bolt and it should slide off.You can wedge the gap open with a flat end screw driver.

Would i need to remove the rear sets. or can u just sneak it out?

ben2go

It should just slide out.Push the foot peg into the up position will help.
