After 1 week in the classifieds, I sold the GS today   , after 2 years and over 15000km I decided Its time to move on
going to check out a 919 hornet tomorow, pretty excited

I've been looking for a newer bike myself. There was a sweet green 919 that was on Craigslist for maybe an hour. Some other bikes I've looked at, FZ6, FZ1, 599, Superhawk, SV650, etc. For me, I will buy a bike before I sell mine. I won't be bike less.

919 = Good choice 

Just remember, the throttle is responsive, so expect it. And be sure to take a photo of the bike for us to see

Well.  both hornets, the 599 and the 919 sold the same day as my GS

Now I am looking at a ZR7s, anyone have any insights on what to look for, or any experience with one

It is the more modern version of the Zephyr 750 you were looking at.

I seen that 06 z750 but it is over 4 hours travel, each way

I went and checked out the bike I had posted, this owner bought it with 10000 km in 2008

He had all the service receipts for the last 20000km, including valve checks, and shim replacements last fall
Corbin seat, aftermarket luggage rack, heated grips, bar risers,  after market levers, and stainless brake lines, rebuilt front suspension, and a new rear shock not installed, this bike is set up for touring pretty well

I realize the 750 is quite low tech and dated, but it suits my needs perfectly,

He accepted my offer, now its in the driveway

Good deal. Now take that unsightly fairing off of it and make it a proper naked bike.

Very nice!  Are they 5 or 6 speeds in that model? Those bikes are pretty good bikes, no crazy power and bullet proof engines. Sound familiar? lol. Anyways I hope you plan on polishing the front rim to match the rear. It is pretty easy to do yourself with some painters tape and paint stripper.

I did the same thing this week...said good bye to my "Little Buddy"...what a great bike...I miss it already...here's a pic of him on his ride to his new house...

Congrats on the 750. It's an aircooled bike too, isn't it? The one I looked at but never rode had an oilcooler, but it was a naked so

Looks great! That's actually the bike that got me thinking about riding again. Someone used to have one parked out front of their house and I'd pass it on a regular basis. I planned on getting one but then ended up with something else, but the naked ones are sweet looking bikes.

Yea, it is air cooled with an oil cooler, I got it out today for the first real ride, (although it was raining so i took it easy)
It does need choke to start cold, but it only take a min to warm up, if that. The revs are smooth, the suspension is really smooth, although the front forks have been rebuilt last year.  I think it has to do with being heavier but everything about it seems more fluid

I also discovered a receipt the for the new rear shock he gave me, it was almost 700 dollars

The extra power is also a bonus, the have around 70-75 hp which is probably double what my gs had.  It is also tourqey, even at 2500 rpm it will pull quite nice

Also, after taking it on the highway I have discovered that as much as I like the look of a naked bike, that fairing makes things so much more comfortable

So far I am liking it, cant wait for the rain to stop so I can take it and really ride it
