http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=56655.0 was my mechanically uneducated description of the recent problem. lol

Well, no manual or rebuild parts yet but but its my day off and had Nothing to do.
So I was at least going to take the carbs out and at least look over them without dismantling.

Was removing them and the metal caps or whatever on the motor side fell apart like paper they were so rusted and dry rotted.
(not my pic below)
Camera is broke but I have a web cam in my closet that I never used since I got it hahaha
So i'll try hookin that up after im done here and relax for a min.

there are caps still on the motor (screws are soaking in WD40 before I attempt removal)
but also some on the carbs that fell apart on the sides.

Is there supposed to be caps on both?
from what I've seen of photos it looks like there is only supposed to be ones on the motor end.

So I dunno if these are old ones the PO never took off or theres layers on the motor side.

Probably describing this pretty badly (no dont go picking up the spray bottle of carb cleaner instead of your bottle of soda!) haha
So i'll try to get that web cam workin and take a pic.

Will also look at an OEM diagram and see if I can link the part here.

(edit)
Part #21 is what literally fell apart.

and nevermind on the layer part.
seeing from the diagram, it just extends out.

Mine just rotted through in the middle.

Good thing tho, so far (without taking it apart) the carbs look pretty clean

So!
Could that have been causing some bad performance? to say the Least!
I KNEW I smelled gas, just wasnt sure if it was me that day as when I took the tank off, some spilled on my pants.

Now where how and when to get replacements?
Think this would be a common carried part at a dealer?
Or should I just order off cheapcycleparts.com like I've been for other crap all along?

(edit again!) ugh
Also need 2 # 32's in http://www.cheapcycleparts.com/model_years/3546-suzuki-1994-gs500e/assemblies/124858
Jet needles.
end of one accidentally got very slightly bent.

(edit again!) haha
Hell with it!
I'll just order OEM off the usual site I've been.
They arent expensive and the quicker I get them ordered, the quicker they will get here and get my @$$ back on the road!

Yes,those parts failing will cause a bike to just give up and die.Once replaced and tuned, you should be golden.

hope so :)
Crazy how someone could let it get THAT bad, I mean to totally fall apart in the middle of the pipe as if it was paper? oye!

I assume it just recently finally cracked, it didnt act up since I got it.

Oh well, brand new OEM parts inc with Fast shipping  :thumb:

and no pics
stupid web cam from the closet isnt compatible with windows 7.
downloaded drivers and software for xp and ran in compatible mode but the computer simply wont recognize the cam.

Just hope there isnt a Ton of gunk in the carbs.
that might also explain another possibility, a piece went in and did a funky dance on the internals.

now if only the dang parts and manual would come already! (the carb rebuilding parts that is, so I can take it apart and clean)
