............because real men ride scooters

Truth be told, I only live a few miles from work and hate putting on a pile of gear, so I get the most miles from my 49cc Honda Ruckus :) Get a pretty consistent 120mpg and is a ton of fun. Throw on my helmet and go! The only issue is the 38mph top speed. That 150cc donor scooter in the background might get torn down this summer  :woohoo:

I have a Honda SH150i and can pull off 65 Mph (indicated) all day long with low 90's for Mpg  :thumb:

Amazing how a thread about the Hayabusa can end up with the Honda SH150i

I'm with you Tanders - the Busa is awesome and I can't wait to test ride one when I get my full license.
Even after riding a TLR on the weekend (50kw less that the Busa) I was blown away by the performance comparison to the little GS

Give me a minute and I'm sure I can squeeze the CH80 into the thread also  :kiss3:

You're welcome.I don't see me giving up my old custom 89 GS.I have ridden a bunch of different bike over the years, but I just get a big smile when I take off on the GS.

I read somewhere that a guy installed a 250cc scooter motor into a Ruckus. You don't happen to have a link to that or know about the build do ya?

I'd say a jump to a Busa from a Gs is a bigger leap than an average  new rider should take. Some people are better than average (learn faster) -some aren't as good...(but make up for it by being more impetuous) .

Most 600's would be a good next step (and a big jump in power and most an improvement in handling over stock gs's). Ditto on what Jessie said .

That being said ( hypocrite mode on ) :

My bro is selling his bike...

That's not the ruckus I saw.It almost looked original.I believe it was black.

I thought of this post (original post) yesterday when I got to ride my buddy's CBR900. Not quite a Hayabusa, and not even a Blackhawk, but still quite a jump from the GS500. That's the first time I've ridden something larger than the less-than-500cc GS and I was quite surprised how light and easy to ride the bike was.

I want one so bad now... That's still way too much horsepower than necessary, but I can completely understand riders who have large displacement bikes now. It felt like I could start from a stop sign in sixth gear and go all the way to a speeding ticket.

i went from a GS. to a ninja 600 no prob. the power was easily triple that of the gs. but if you are smart it shouldnt be a big deal.

after the green ninja was totaled (not my fault DANGIT) i just recently acquired a 2002 FZ1.. which is a slightly detuned R1 motor... still makes 140 hp or so? the torque on this thing is incredible.. at 3k rpms i have enough power in all gears to pass anything.. my ninja would barely lift the front wheel with a super snappy 1-2 shift.. this thing does it all the way to 4th gear! i havent spun it all that high yet cause there is just so much down low!

I think that my next bike will be FZ8. I haven't test rode one yet.
I wanted to get FZ6 after sitting on one at a dealership; bike just felt right and super comfy, but the reviews of FZ8 are even better than FZ6. It's suppose to be even more comfy with the more usable power range, but not a power monster that pops unexpected wheelies!

I have been riding for 5 years, and during the past the past 2 I have been commuting everyday, all year long, rain or shine (with the exception of a couple of weeks when roads were covered with ice).

If I upgrade I would love to keep GS for commuting and get FZ8 as my touring/weekend bike.

hmm yeah  after riding the Busa I don't think a 600 would be a problem at all, my friend swapped bikes with another riding buddy who rides a newer ninja zx6r and the guy came away astounded after riding the Busa said it was totally different than the ninja, which I'd imagine it would be. Now I'm itching to ride a 600 to see what it feels like, now I'm worried that everything else is going to feel wimpy lol... :D
