Okay, well all know the Gladius is butt ugly, right?

Seems Suzuki, in an effort to steal a few sales away from Kawasaki's dominant position with their Z750 have created their own clone of the bike... the GSR750. Here's a video of it http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=U8TyOGCtumM

Here's a pic of the hideous beast...

I know it's been out for a while but we haven't really discussed the bike here...

Rear seat looks a bit out of place but I like it.
Some say that he submitted a $20000 expense claim for some gravel

And that if he'd write a letter of condolance he would at least spell your name right.

the mole

That is unbearably ugly. Like most modern sport bikes.

The gheydius is well not exactly butt ugly IMHO ... its cheap and tacky up close with tons of faux covers and other cheap plastic sheite, and IMHO the worst feature of it is the steel frame, that looks like it was thrown together and welded by monkeys on crack. Like full of blisters and cheap sheite water color paint. This one atleast has a twin spar aluminum frame. However it also seems to have a over abundance of faux crap ...

However the first gen z1000 is one cool looking bike, 2nd gen needs new pipes but still is cool.

Cool.

I'm afraid it's a steel frame

After seeing a few Gladius (Gladi?) in person I think they are.... ok. I wouldnt set it on fire if you gave it to me for free. That bike looks, well, ok. Still nothing I would say is good looking and there are plenty of other options.

Keep in mind, some people think the GS is hideous..... Of course they are all squids tho so their opinion doesnt matter  :icon_lol:

YES!!! I couldn't agree more. The SV meets all my requirement for an upgrade except for the poor suspension.....

I don't mind the look, though my local dealer doesn't have one in stock so i cant get a real look at it. Might be covered in cheaply painted plastic in real life

I think it looks awesome. I had been complaining for years wondering why Suzuki didn't make a streetbike out of that amazing motor. I'm pretty pleased with the outcome, although I still think I'd rather just buy a rashed up gsxr for $2500 and make my own naked bike out of it.

It sucks that they put a good amount of effort into styling the bike well, and tossed that cheap looking steel box swingarm on it. Give me a braced swingarm and I'll be as happy as can be.

Actually I'd like a busa motor with the outside cyls left off in my sv ... hafa-busa could be its name.

Looks just like the GSR600 available in AU and EU for a while now.  Not too likely we'll see them here in the land of supersports and big cruisers.  GSR600 pic:

I like the Gladius styling, looks even better if you call it a SFV650.   :icon_lol:

K I have to ask, WTF is with the exhaust under the tail section ...

Yea it looked great on a ducati 916, but well, that was a duc, it had a beautiful tail to begin with and the exhaust well ... it looked fine too.
These things weigh as much as a boat anchor, get hotter than a volcano and the bloody tail is ugly to start with and guess what, now it will cost you 1000 bones for an aftermarket pipe set, cos each bike is different. That's what I call Engineering, cosmetic and ergonomic castration ...

I seriously like the nice exhaust on 1 side, I can put a CF pipe or a Ti or whatever and have it be my personal statement, oval or trioval in CF ... gorgeous. Men ride motorcycles, men like to have long pipes for their ... end of story.

Cool.
